The Fresno State Bulldogs women's basketball team represents California State University, Fresno, located in Fresno, California, in NCAA Division I basketball competition. They play their home games at the Save Mart Center and are members of the Mountain West Conference. [2]

History

The Bulldogs have an all-time record of 739–562 as of the end of the 2015–16 season. Fresno State has made the NCAA tournament seven times (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014) but have never gone past the first round. Before they left the Western Athletic Conference in 2012, the Bulldogs won four WAC titles. [3]

They finished the season 27–3, 13–1 in PCAA play to win the conference regular season title. They defeated Cal State Fullerton to win the PCAA tournament and earn the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. The Bulldogs lost in the Sweet Sixteen to eventual runner-up Georgetown, 58–40.

They finished the season 24–10, 11–3 in WAC play to finish in second place. They defeated No. 14 Tulsa to win the WAC tournament and earn the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. The Bulldogs lost in the first round to eventual Final Four participant Wisconsin.

This was head coach Boyd Grant's 7th season at Fresno State. The Bulldogs played their home games at Selland Arena and were members of the Pacific Coast Athletic Association. They finished the season 25–8, 13–5 in PCAA play to finish 3rd in the conference regular standings. They defeated Cal State Fullerton to win the PCAA tournament and earn the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. The Bulldogs lost in the opening round to future Hall of Famer Karl Malone and Louisiana Tech, 66–56.

They finished the season 26–7, 13–3 in WAC play to finish in first place. They defeated Tulsa to win the WAC tournament and earn the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. The Bulldogs beat No. 8 seed California in the first round before losing to No. 1 seed and eventual Final Four participant Michigan State.
