Friedrichsaue is a village and a former municipality in the district of Salzlandkreis, in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. Since 15 July 2009, it is part of the town Seeland. [1]
The village lies approximately 18 km north-west of Aschersleben. The population, (as of June 2004), is 224 inhabitants, making it one of the smallest villages in the region.
Friedrichsaue was founded in 1753, named after Frederick the Great. He gifted lands nearby to migrants from the Rhineland who founded the religious settlement Klostergut Seeleben.
The village was formerly part of the Aschersleben-Staßfurt-Kreis, which changed to Salzlandkreis on 1 July 2007, as part of the Kreisreform Sachsen-Anhalt 2007.

Seeland is a town in the Salzlandkreis district, in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. It is situated northwest of Aschersleben. It was formed by the merger of the previously independent municipalities Friedrichsaue, Frose, Hoym, Nachterstedt and Schadeleben on 15 July 2009. Before this date, these municipalities cooperated in the Verwaltungsgemeinschaft Seeland, which also contained the municipality Gatersleben. Gatersleben joined Seeland in September 2010.
Barby is a town in the Salzlandkreis district, in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. It is situated on the left bank of the River Elbe, near the confluence with the Saale, approx. 25 km (16 mi) southeast of Magdeburg. Since an administrative reform of 1 January 2010 it comprises the former municipalities of the Verwaltungsgemeinschaft Elbe-Saale, except for Gnadau, that joined Barby in September 2010. Kreisreform Sachsen-Anhalt 2007 is a law in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany that came into effect on July 1, 2007, which outlines a reform of the districts of Saxony-Anhalt. It reduced the districts from 24 to 14. Nine new districts were created by amalgamating existing districts, while the rural districts of Altmarkkreis Salzwedel and Stendal as well as the urban districts of Halle and Magdeburg were untouched.
