From the Word Go is the second album by alternative rock group Alien Crime Syndicate released in 2000 through Collective Fruit. [2] Recorded nearly two years before debut Dust to Dirt but released months after [1] and produced by Gil Norton. [2] Originally the album was to be released on Revolution Records, a subsidiary of Giant Records, however after recording had finished, the record label folded and ACS lost the rights to their album. The rights were later bought by Will Records who released the album in July 2000. [2] [3] [4]

Alternative rock is a style of rock music that emerged from the independent music underground of the 1970s and became widely popular in the 1980s. In this instance, the word "alternative" refers to the genre's distinction from mainstream rock music. The term's original meaning was broader, referring to a generation of musicians unified by their collective debt to either the musical style or simply the independent, DIY ethos of punk rock, which in the late 1970s laid the groundwork for alternative music. At times, "alternative" has been used as a catch-all description for music from underground rock artists that receives mainstream recognition, or for any music, whether rock or not, that is seen to be descended from punk rock. Although the genre evolved in the late 1970s and 1980s, music anticipating the sound of the genre can be found as early as the 1960s, with bands such as the Velvet Underground and artists such as Syd Barrett.

Alien Crime Syndicate, often abbreviated to ACS, were a rock band formed in San Francisco, California, in 1997. From 1999 to the band's breakup in 2005, the lineup consisted primarily of Joe Reineke, Jeff Rouse, Nabil Ayers (drums), while guitarists Jason Krevey, Mike Squires and Mike Davis were also members of the band.

Dust to Dirt is the debut album by alternative rock group Alien Crime Syndicate released in 2000 through Collective Fruit. Following the folding of their previous label, Revolution Records, they relocated to Seattle, Washington and began re-recording songs from the first unreleased record, From the Word Go later released on Will Records, as well as new material released on Nabil Ayers's own label, Collective Fruit, in February, 2000.

Jeff Rouse (musician) American guitarist

Jeff Rouse is an American musician who is best known as the bassist for both Alien Crime Syndicate and Duff McKagan's Loaded. In September 2014, it was announced Rouse was the newest member of Fozzy. Previously, Rouse was a member of a number of Seattle based groups such as Vendetta Red and Sirens Sister while he also has his own solo project titled To the Glorious Lonely.
