The futsal tournament at the 2011 Southeast Asian Games took place from 17 to 22 November 2011. This edition of the tournament featured both men's and women's tournaments. All matches were held in POPKI Sports Hall, Jakarta.

The 27th association football tournament at the 2013 Southeast Asian Games took place in Myanmar between 7–21 December. It was played among U-23 national teams, while the women's tournament had no age limit.

The 2021 Southeast Asian Games, officially known as the 31st Southeast Asian Games, or the 31st SEA Games and also known as Vietnam 2021, was the 31st edition of the Southeast Asian Games, the biennial regional multi-sport event which was held in Hanoi, Vietnam and its surrounding cities from 12 to 23 May 2022.

The 2018 AFC Women's Futsal Championship was the second edition of the AFC Women's Futsal Championship, the biennial international futsal championship organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for the women's national teams of Asia. It took place in Thailand, which was appointed as hosts by the AFC on 29 July 2017, between 2 and 12 May 2018. The tournament was originally to be held between 15–26 August 2017, two years after the inaugural edition in 2015, but was postponed to the following year.

The 2018 AFF Futsal Championship will be the 15th edition of the tournament. The tournament will be held in November 2018 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia

The women's football tournament at the 2017 Southeast Asian Games was the tenth women's SEA Games football tournament. The tournament was held in Malaysia from 20 to 28 August 2017 where five teams participated in a round-robin format. There were no age restrictions on women's teams.

The 2018 Vinaphone Cup is an international Olympic association football friendly tournament, sponsored by Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) with the competition is named after Vinaphone, a subsidiary-mobile network which is part of VNPT. The men's football tournament at the 2021 Southeast Asian Games was held from 6 – 22 May 2022 in Vietnam. Ten Southeast Asian nations participated in the men's tournament. The group stage and semi-finals were played in Việt Trì and Nam Định, while Hanoi hosted the bronze and gold medal matches. Men's teams are restricted to under-23 players with a maximum of three over-aged players allowed.

The women's football tournament at the 2021 Southeast Asian Games was held from 6–22 May 2022 in Vietnam. Seven Southeast Asian nations participated in the women's tournament. All matches were played in Quảng Ninh. There was no age limit for this tournament. Indonesia withdrew from the competition after the draw. Malaysia withdrew from the competition before the draw. Timor-Leste did not take part in the competition.
