Asian Football Confederation International governing body for association football, beach soccer, and futsal

The Asian Football Confederation is a governing body of association football, beach soccer, and futsal in some countries/territories in Asia and Oceania. It has 47 member countries most of which are located in Asia. Australia, formerly in OFC, joined AFC in 2006. Guam, a territory of the United States, and the Northern Mariana Islands, 1 of the 2 commonwealths of the United States are also AFC members that are geographically in Oceania. The Asian Ladies Football Confederation (ALFC) is the section of AFC who manage women's association football in Asia. The group was independently founded in April 1968 in a meeting involving Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore. In 1986 ALFC merged with AFC.

Laos national football team National association football team

The Laos national football team is the men's national football team that represents the Lao People's Democratic Republic. It is affiliated with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and the regional ASEAN Football Federation (AFF).

The FIFA Futsal World Cup is an international futsal competition contested by the senior men's national teams of the member associations of FIFA, the sport's global governing body. The first edition took place in 1989 in the Netherlands, and the tournament has been held every four years since 1992, on the even year between two football World Cups. The current champions are Portugal, who won their first world title after beating the 2016 defending champions Argentina in the final of the 2021 tournament in Lithuania.

Indonesia national under-23 football team Indonesian national football team

The Indonesia national under-23 football team is considered to be the feeder team for the Indonesia national football team, represents Indonesia at football in the Olympic Games, Asian Games and Southeast Asian Games, as well as any other under-23 international football tournaments including the AFC U-23 Championship. It is controlled by the Football Association of Indonesia.

AFC Futsal Asian Cup Football tournament

The AFC Futsal Asian Cup, previously the AFC Futsal Championship, is the premier international futsal competition for the Asian Football Confederation national teams. It was first held in 1999 and was played annually until 2008; since then it has been played biennially. From 2021, the tournament will be rebranded from the "AFC Futsal Championship" to the "AFC Futsal Asian Cup".

The Iran national futsal team represents Iran in international futsal competitions and is controlled by the Futsal Commission of the Iranian Football Federation. According to the Futsal World Ranking, it is ranked 6th in the world, and 1st amongst Asian Football Confederation members.

The Japan national futsal team represents Japan in international futsal competitions and is controlled by the Japan Football Association. It is one of the strongest teams in Asia, the champions in the 2006, 2012 and 2014 Asian Futsal Championships. Japan has also played in five FIFA Futsal World Cups.

The Futsal at the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games is a futsal competition of the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games. It was first held in 2005.

Association Football in Vietnam is run by the Vietnam Football Federation. The federation administers the Vietnamese national football teams including the Men's and Women's teams. It is also responsible for the national football leagues including the V.League 1, which is the top tier of professional football in Vietnam.

Football has been part of the Southeast Asian Games sport since the 1959 edition. The women's football competition was held for the first time in 1985 in Thailand.

The Thailand national futsal team represents Thailand in international futsal competitions and is controlled by the Football Association of Thailand.

The Central American Games football tournament is a football competition organised by UNCAF and ORDECA. It is scheduled to be held every four years.

Indonesia national futsal team

The Indonesian national futsal team represents Indonesia in international futsal competitions and is controlled by the MNC Corporation. Indonesia has played fourteen times at the AFF Futsal Championship and nine times at the AFC Futsal Championship. The team never participate in any World Cup but won the AFF Futsal Championship once in 2010.

The AFF Women's Championship is the competition in women's football organised by the ASEAN Football Federation, contested by the national teams of nations in Southeast Asia. The official tournament started in 2004, hosted by Vietnam and won by Myanmar.

The Bhutan national futsal team represents Bhutan in men's international futsal. The team is controlled by the governing body of football and futsal in Bhutan, the Bhutan Football Federation, which is currently a member of the Asian Football Federation and the regional body the South Asian Football Federation. Futsal used to be very much in an embryonic stage of development in Bhutan, with the team only having played eight competitive matches. A national team was selected at very short notice for the fourth Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games held in Incheon, Korea, in 2013. In their first game, they were soundly beaten 29–1 by Thailand, despite scoring through Dawa Dhendup in the first minute. The team is currently ranked 150th and last in the world futsal rankings. By establishing National League and investing in futsal infrastructure, conditions have significantly improved since then.

Sport in Vietnam

The Cambodia national under-23 football team is the under-23 football team representing Cambodia at the Olympic Games, Asian Games, and Southeast Asian Games. It is administered by the Football Federation of Cambodia.

The Bhutan national under-23 football team represents Bhutan in men's international under-23 football. The team is controlled by the governing body for football in Bhutan, the Bhutan Football Federation, which is currently a member of the Asian Football Federation and the regional body the South Asian Football Federation. Bhutan have never attempted to qualify for the Olympic Games and their competitive matches have been restricted solely to the South Asian Games, where they made their debut in 2004.

The men's football tournament at the 2021 Southeast Asian Games is currently being held from 6 – 22 May 2022 in Vietnam. Ten Southeast Asian nations are scheduled to participate in the men's tournament. The group stage and semi-finals will be played in Việt Trì and Nam Định, while Hanoi will host the bronze and gold medal matches. Men's teams are restricted to under-23 players with a maximum of three over-aged players allowed.

The futsal tournament at the 2021 Southeast Asian Games is scheduled to be held from 10 to 20 May 2022 in Vietnam. All matches will be held at Hà Nam Gymnasium in Phủ Lý. Hà Nam Province.
