GFI Russia is a Russian video game developer. It was founded in 1996 as MiST Land South by a group of friends and located in Zelenograd, Moscow. It was purchased in 2003 by Game Factory Interactive and reorganize into GFI Russia in 2006. [1] [2]

MiST Land South was chosen by Game Factory Interactive (GFI) to develop the next two installments in the Jagged Alliance series : Jagged Alliance 3 and Jagged Alliance 3D . [3] The developer MiST Land South hasn't completed the development because of Strategy First (the owners of the Jagged Alliance intellectual property), which had withdrawn the license from GFI. Cannon Fodder is a series of war themed action games developed by Sensible Software, initially released as Cannon Fodder for the Commodore Amiga. Only two games in the series were created by Sensible, but were converted to most active systems at the time of release. A sequel, Cannon Fodder 2, was released in 1994 for Amiga and DOS. Jagged Alliance 2 is a tactical role-playing game for PC, released in 1999 for Microsoft Windows and later ported to Linux by Tribsoft. It is the third entry in the Jagged Alliance series. Nival Interactive developed a proprietary game engine for its turn-based tactics video game Silent Storm. The game is the second sequel to Cannon Fodder, a commercially and critically successful game released for multiple formats in 1993. Jon Hare and his company Sensible Software, the developers of Cannon Fodder and its prior sequel, were uninvolved with Cannon Fodder 3. GFI instead licensed the intellectual property from now-owner Codemasters.
