Incorporated in 2005; it currently offers 630+ channels, 543 SD channels and 91 HD channels and services, along with many other value added services. Tata Play is the largest DTH service provider in India. As of March 2023, according to TRAI Tata Play serves 21.3 million subscribers which is 32.65% of total DTH users in India.
Shemaroo Entertainment Ltd. is an Indian content creator, aggregator and distributor, specifically in the media and entertainment industry. It was founded by Buddhichand Maroo in 1962 as a book-circulating library under the name Shemaroo. It set up India's first video rental business in 1979. The company went national after it began content distribution in 1987, became aggregators and bought rights to movies for home video.

The Media in Gujarati language started with publication of Bombay Samachar in 1822. Initially the newspapers published business news and they were owned by Parsi people based in Bombay. Later Gujarati newspapers started published from other parts of Gujarat. Several periodicals devoted to social reforms were published in the second half of the 19th century. After arrival of Mahatma Gandhi, the Indian independence movement peaked and it resulted in proliferation of Gujarati media. Following independence, the media was chiefly focused on political news. After bifurcation of Bombay state, the area of service changed. Later there was an increase in readership due to growth of literacy and the media houses expanded its readership by publishing more editions. Later these media houses ventured into digital media also. The radio and television media expanded after 1990.
R9 TV is a Hindi-language regional news channel that is broadcast in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. It was launched on Sept 12, 2019 and is available on Tata Sky, Airtel, Dish TV and others. Amitabh Agnihotri is editor-in-chief for the channel. On September 22, 2020, Umesh Kumar joined R9 TV as news director and chief executive officer.
Republic Kannada is a free-to-air Indian Kannada-language news channel, launched on 22 September 2023, by Republic Media Network, co-founded by Arnab Goswami and Rajeev Chandrasekhar. Chandrashekhar funded the channel through his company Jupiter Capital Private Limited. Republic Kannada was previously named Dighvijaya News and was owned by Vijay Sankeshwar's VRL Media. Republic TV officially bought the channel and rebranded to Republic Kannada.
