The Filmfare Best Villain Award was given by Filmfare as part of its annual Filmfare Awards for Hindi films, to recognise an actor who had delivered an outstanding performance in a negative role. Although the awards started in 1954, this category was first introduced in 1992 and has been marked as obsolete since 2007.
Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is a 1998 Indian Hindi-language action comedy film directed by David Dhawan and produced by Vashu Bhagnani under Pooja Entertainment. It is inspired from The Comedy of Errors and the 1995 American film Bad Boys.
Phool Aur Kaante is a 1991 Indian Hindi-language action-romance film directed by Kuku Kohli. It stars Ajay Devgan, Madhoo, Aruna Irani, Jagdeep and Amrish Puri among others. The film marked the debut of Devgan, son of late stunt and action choreographer Veeru Devgan, and Madhoo, niece of actress Hema Malini. The film was a superhit and won Devgan the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut for 1991. This film was remade in Telugu as Varasudu and in Odia as Dhire Dhire Prema Hela. The film is loosely based on the Malayalam film Parampara directed by Sibi Malayil where Mammootty plays dual roles as Johnny, the protagonist and Lawrence, his father.
Andhaa Kaanoon is a 1983 Hindi-language action film directed by T. Rama Rao, starring Rajinikanth, Hema Malini, Reena Roy in leading roles and featuring an ensemble cast in supporting roles including Prem Chopra, Danny Denzongpa, Pran, Madan Puri and Amrish Puri. Amitabh Bachchan makes an extended special appearance along with Madhavi and Dharmendra is seen in a cameo. It is a remake of the Tamil film Sattam Oru Iruttarai (1981). The film was a critical and commercial success and the 5th highest grossing film of 1983.
Aarzoo is a 1999 Indian Hindi romantic action film directed by Lawrence D'Souza stars Akshay Kumar, Madhuri Dixit, Saif Ali Khan, Amrish Puri, Paresh Rawal and Reema Lagoo. The film was primarily filmed in Mumbai, but some scenes were filmed in London and Edinburgh. The film was remade in Bengali Bangladesh as O Priya Tumi Kothay (2002).

Aan: Men at Work is a 2004 Indian action drama film directed by Madhur Bhandarkar. It features an ensemble cast consisting of Akshay Kumar, Shatrughan Sinha, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal in the leading roles, while Jackie Shroff, Irrfan Khan, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Om Puri, Rahul Dev, Manoj Joshi, Rajpal Yadav, Preeti Jhangiani and Ravi Kishan played supporting roles. It was released on 4 June 2004.

Vidhaata was the highest-grossing Indian film of 1982 and the fifth highest-grossing Indian film of the decade, when adjusted for inflation, being declared a "Blockbuster" by Box office India.

Keemat – They Are Back is a 1998 Indian Hindi-language action film directed by Sameer Malkan based on a story by Sayed Sultan and produced by brothers Ganesh and Ramesh Jain. It stars Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan, Raveena Tandon and Sonali Bendre, with Ravi Kishen and Anupam Kher in supporting roles. This was the fourth collaboration between Kumar and Khan after hits like Main Khiladi Tu Anari, Yeh Dillagi and Tu Chor Main Sipahi.

Barood (transl. Gunpowder) is an Indian Hindi-language masala film directed by Pramod Chakravorty released on 7 August 1998. In 1976, producer also directed the movie of the same name. It stars Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon as the lead protagonists. Amrish Puri, Mohan Joshi, Rakhi Gulzar and Mohnish Behl played supporting roles in the film.
Awaaz is a 1984 Hindi action crime film directed by Shakti Samanta with Rajesh Khanna in the lead role and supported by Jaya Prada, Rakesh Roshan, Suresh Oberoi, Supriya Pathak, Iftekar, Prem Chopra, Madan Puri and Amrish Puri. The music is by R.D.Burman. The songs are sung by Kishore Kumar for Rajesh, and by Asha Bhonsle for the females. This film marked the first return of the Shakti-Rajesh team after Anurodh in 1977
Jaan is a 1996 Hindi-language action drama film directed by Raj Kanwar and produced by Ashok Ghai. The film stars Ajay Devgn, with Twinkle Khanna, Amrish Puri, Shakti Kapoor and Suresh Oberoi. It was theatrically released in United States on 31 March 1996 and India as well as other countries on 17 May 1996. The film's soundtrack was composed by Anand–Milind. Upon release, it was commercially successful, grossing ₹17.20 crore (US$2.1 million) worldwide. The film was declared a "super hit" at the box office.
