"Garage Palace" is a song by English virtual band Gorillaz featuring British rapper Little Simz,who had been touring with the band and played at the first Demon Dayz Festival with the band where they performed the track and "Clint Eastwood". [3] It was released on 31 October 2017 as a single from the Super Deluxe edition of the band's fifth studio album Humanz alongside a music video. [4] It is one of the 14 outtakes from the Humanz sessions that didn't make it to the final album. [5] [6]
The song was first premiered by Damon Albarn on the Zane Lowe's Beats 1 radio show where he would also tease the track "Hollywood". [7] During this,he also talked a bit about the collaboration stating,"I just was really struck by her kind of individualism,she's just not part of a scene,and I think that's great for her." [8]
A music video was released alongside the release of the single on 31 October 2017. It was directed by Noah Harris,and features the band and Little Simz in a 16-bit [9] video game fighting enemies and reaching checkpoints. [6] At the end of the song,they take to the sky where they reach the final boss. [10]
It charted as an "extra tip" on the Ultratip charts. [11]

Song Machine is an audiovisual project by British virtual band Gorillaz. It is a music video web series consisting of a collection of music videos and singles that are released monthly by the band as episodes of the series,with each episode featuring additional guests. Each episode is released with accompanying interludes called "Machine Bitez",a series of skits consisting of short conversations and interviews with Song Machine's guests from Gorillaz' virtual band members.
