Garnant railway station served the village of Garnant, Carmarthenshire, Wales, from 1840 to 1958 on the Brynamman Branch.
The station was opened as Cwmamman in April 1840 by the Llanelly Railway. [1] Its name was later changed to Garnant. [2] [ when? ] An order was made on 14 December 1859 to close the branch line by the end of the month, although this didn't happen as it was still in Bradshaw and the timetable from January to June 1860. It was resited half a mile to the west on 20 March 1865. It closed on 18 August 1958. [3] [4]
This was the name of the platforms for the line to Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen. They opened on 1 January 1908, closed on 2 April 1917 but reopened on 7 July 1919. They were temporarily closed on 11 April 1921 due to a coal strike but reopened on 1 July of the same year. [5] They finally closed on 4 May 1926. [3] [4]
Gedney railway station was a station in Gedney, Lincolnshire. It was a station on the Midland and Great Northern Joint Railway network. It opened on 1 July 1862, and closed on 2 March 1959. The station building survives today and has recently been fully renovated as a residential dwelling. The original line gates have been preserved.
Launton railway station served the village of Launton in Oxfordshire. It was on the Varsity Line between Bletchley and Oxford. The station opened in 1850; British Railways closed Launton station, and withdrew passenger services at the end of 1967. The station was demolished after closure but the platforms remained until around 2020 when they were removed during reconstruction for reopening of the East/West Rail Link.
Latchford railway station was a station in Latchford, Cheshire, England. The first station at Latchford was called Latchford and Grappenhall Road and opened in 1853; this was renamed Latchford in June 1854 but it closed in 1893, when a new alignment was opened in connection with the construction of the Manchester Ship Canal, and a new Latchford station was opened nearby. This closed to passengers on 10 September 1962. The station was on the LNWR's Ditton Junction to Skelton Junction line and was used by Ditton Junction–Manchester and Liverpool–Manchester through trains.
Heaton Norris railway station was a railway station in Stockport, England, which opened in 1840 and closed in 1959.
