Gasanova is the second studio album by American rapper Yung Gravy, released on October 2, 2020, by Republic Records. The album features appearances by Ski Mask the Slump God, TrippythaKid, Bobby Raps, Young Dolph, bbno$, Chief Keef, and Y2K.

Background and promotion

Prior to the release of the project, Gravy released two music videos. On April 22, 2020, the video for "Tampa Bay Bustdown" was published, featuring Gravy alongside featured artists Chief Keef and Y2K. On September 2, 2020, Gravy released the video for "Yup!", which tells the story Bruce Buttercrisp, the character Gravy plays in the video.

In collaboration with clothing brand PizzaSlime, a wave of merchandise inspired by Gasanova arrived on September 16, 2020. [4]

Gravy took to Twitter on September 29, 2020, to announce the album, revealing the title, cover art, and track list. [5]

During a virtual press conference on September 30, 2020, Rowdy Magazine asked Gravy to describe Gasanova's "vibe" in three words. He said: "It thumps. It's carefree. It's gas." [6]

The main line of Gasanova merchandise was released alongside the album through Gravy's official webstore titled Creamium. [7]

Following the album's release, Gravy released music videos for the songs "Gas Money" and "Miami Ice".

Migos were an American hip hop group founded in Lawrenceville, Georgia, in 2008. The group was composed of rappers Quavo, his nephew Takeoff, and Offset. Quavo is from Athens, Georgia, and Offset and Takeoff were born and raised in nearby Lawrenceville. Gregory Renard, known professionally as DJ Yung Vamp or simply Vamp, is a Belgian DJ and record producer, who also uses the alias Jeune Vamp as a rapper. He has been defined as "one of the largest influencers of new-age phonk".

Aaron Jennings Puckett, better known by his stage name Lil Aaron, is an American rapper, singer and songwriter from Goshen, Indiana. Merging elements of pop punk and emo with hip hop and pop, he has released five solo EPs, as well as two EPs as a member of the alternative hip hop collective Boyfriendz. He has also written songs for artists such as Blackbear, Liam Payne, Hailee Steinfeld, Dev and Kiiara. He took part in the writing of Lizzo's 2019 album Cuz I Love You, which won a Grammy Award for Best Urban Contemporary Album.

It was written by Yung Gravy and produced by Nick Seeley, Dillon Francis and Dwilly, along with the credit for its prominent interpolation of Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up". The song and its music video, featuring Yung Gravy dancing in a white fur coat, went viral on TikTok shortly after its release, being used in over 300,000 videos.
