Gaute Storaas (born 20 August 1959) is a Norwegian jazz musician (bass) and composer, [1] [2] and the older brother of jazz pianist Vigleik Storaas. [3]
Storaas was born in Bergen and became well known for his innovative bass playing on the local rock and jazz scene. He started studies on the University of Bergen (political science and music). He attended Berklee College of Music, Boston, in 1984, and got his diploma in Arranging in 1986. Returned to Norway, (Oslo) and did all kinds of writing work. Arranging for shows, broadcasting, recording sessions, composing for commercials, commissioned films, TV idents, etc. Also found some time for music of his own, and won the Danish Radio Orchestra competition for younger composers in 1989, with the work "Ouverture #2".
Best known is probably all the ident music for the launch of TV2, the biggest commercial TV channel in Norway, in 1992.
The last decade, time has been split between composing for film and TV, and orchestral arranging for many of the most popular Norwegian artists. Internationally known are, among others, acts as diverse as the black metal band Dimmu Borgir , [4] the singer Sissel Kyrkjebø, (the wordless voice of Titanic ,) and young classical trumpet virtuoso Tine Thing Helseth.
Most recent film score is for the animated feature Elias and the Treasure of the Sea, which won the Nordic Film Composers Award 2011. The previous score, for The Royal PortKids and the TV series that it was based on, Abdias: The Little Tugboat, (nominated for Emmy 2006), was given the Edvard Prize 2007, TONOs prestigious composer award. In 2007 Storaas composed a full-blown orchestral score for the animated feature Elias and the Royal Yacht. (Nominated for best Norwegian filmscore 2007) Prior to that, scored the TV series Elias, the little Rescue Boat, which was nominated for Emmy, and is sold to about 15 countries. The CD with music from the show was nominated for Spellemannprisen, (the Norwegian grammy) 2011. Scored movies as diverse as the romantic comedy The Woman of my Life, and the dark documentary Boomerang, (about police violence.) [1]
Best known work is probably all the ident-music for the launch of TV2, the biggest commercial TV channel in Norway, back in 1992. Most of it ran for 12 years, and some is still on the air. A new, continuing series of high-profile idents started in 2003.

Dimmu Borgir is a Norwegian symphonic black metal band from Jessheim, formed in 1993. The name is derived from Dimmuborgir, a volcanic formation in Iceland, the name of which means "dark cities" or "dark castles/fortresses" in Icelandic, Faroese and Old Norse. The band has been through numerous lineup changes over the years; vocalist Shagrath and rhythm guitarist Silenoz are the only original members who still remain, with lead guitarist Galder being a longstanding member.
Death Cult Armageddon is the sixth studio album by Norwegian symphonic black metal band Dimmu Borgir, released on 9 September 2003. It has since sold over 100,000 copies in the United States; the first album under Nuclear Blast to do so; and debuted on the Billboard 200 chart at number 169. The song "Progenies of the Great Apocalypse" was released as a single with an accompanying music video. This would also be the last album to have Nicholas Barker on drums.
Langsomt Mot Nord is a Norwegian synth-duo, founded by rock-drummer Ola Snortheim. Snortheim a well-known rock drummer of the Norwegian scene in the 1980s and 1990s, and he played in bands with Blaupunkt, De Press and Circus Modern.

Seefood TV is a Norwegian production company for television and film. Seefood produce for the Norwegian broadcasters TV2, TVNorge and NRK. The company was founded in 2001 by Kristian Ødegård and Espen Eckbo and their first production was the reality parody Santas In A Barn. Aleksander Herresthal joined the company as a partner and CEO in 2007 and is working today as Chief Creative Officer. The company has produced several award-winning and critically acclaimed comedy series for television. Their productions have been nominated for a total of 46 Gullruten awards and have won 8 Norwegian Comedy Awards.
Abrahadabra is the eighth studio album by Norwegian symphonic black metal band Dimmu Borgir, released in 2010. The first single from the album, "Gateways", was released on 20 August in Europe and 24 August in North America. On 14 September a video for "Gateways" was released featuring Djerv front-woman, Agnete Kjølsrud. On 17 September the song "Born Treacherous" was released on Dimmu Borgir's official Myspace for streaming. On 24 September the band announced they would stream Abrahadabra in its entirety, until 7 p.m. EST that evening. This would mark the first official release of all the tracks on the album. The album features drummer Daray and additional keyboards by Gerlioz.

Vigleik Storaas is a Norwegian jazz pianist and composer, and the younger brother of composer and bassist Gaute Storaas. He is known from a series of album releases and collaborations with jazz musicians such as Norma Winstone, Karin Krog, Terje Rypdal, Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen, Chet Baker, Jack DeJohnette and Warne Marsh.
Hayden James Richard Powell is a jazz trumpeter and composer based in Oslo, Norway. Powell is English, but moved to Norway as a child and grew up in Molde. He has collaborated with numerous musicians including Terje Rypdal, Kenny Wheeler, Eirik Hegdal, Vigleik Storaas, Nils-Olav Johansen, Ole Morten Vågan, Eyolf Dale, and Ståle Storløkken, and released his debut solo album The Attic in 2011.

The Tomten and the Fox is a Norwegian short animation film by Are Austnes and Yaprak Morali. It is the second film adaptation of the books The Tomten and The Tomten and the Fox by Astrid Lindgren, which are based on the poems by Viktor Rydberg and Karl-Erik Forsslund. The film was first broadcast on December 23, 2019 in Norway and on December 24 in Sweden as Räven och Tomten.
