The 1920 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the VII Olympiad and commonly known as Antwerp 1920, were an international multi-sport event held in 1920 in Antwerp, Belgium.
Valeriy Nikolayevich Brumel was a Russian high jumper. The 1964 Olympic champion and multiple world record holder, he is regarded as one of the greatest athletes ever to compete in the high jump. His international career was ended by a motorcycle crash in 1965.

While none of the athletes form Saint Lucia won an Olympic medal at the 2000 Summer Olympics, Jamie Promesse placed first in his heat for the men's 50-metre freestyle.

Cape Verde competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. Their participation marked their fourth Olympic appearance. Sergei Ivanovich Filatov was a Soviet equestrian who competed in the mixed dressage at the 1956, 1960 and 1964 Olympics. He won individual gold in 1960 and two bronze medals in 1964, individual and with the Soviet team. His 1960 gold was the first achievement of this rank for a Soviet rider.
The 1962 World Rowing Championships were the inaugural world championships in rowing. The competition was held in September 1962 on the Rotsee in Lucerne, Switzerland. Rowers from West Germany dominated the competition, winning five of the seven boat classes.
Gavriil (Gabriel) Bertrain (Bertren) was a French and Russian military officer and Russian fencer. He competed in three events at the 1912 Summer Olympics.
Petr Gavrilovich Kravtzov was an officer of the Russian Imperial Army and major general of the Don Army. During the First World War he was a commander of the Sixteenth Special Don Cossack Regiment, and after his promotion to major general from April 1917 to January 1918 Commander of the 3rd Don Cossack Division.
