Gayathri Kariyawasam (born 25 December 1976) is a former Sri Lankan woman cricketer. [1] She was part of the Sri Lankan cricket team that played the 2009 Women's Cricket World Cup.
The Sri Lanka men's national cricket team,nicknamed The Lions,represents Sri Lanka in men's international cricket. It was a Full Member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) with Test,One-Day International (ODI) and T20 International (T20I) status until it was suspended by ICC on 10 November 2023 and the suspension was lifted on 21 November 2023. The team first played international cricket in 1926–27 and became an associate member of the ICC in 1965. They were awarded the Test status in 1981,which made Sri Lanka the eighth Test cricket-playing nation. The team is administered by Sri Lanka Cricket.
Deshabandu Handunnettige Deepthi Priyantha Kumar Dharmasena is a Sri Lankan cricket umpire and former international cricketer. He is a member of the Elite Panel of ICC Umpires and the first person to participate in an ICC Cricket World Cup final both as a player and an umpire,as he was a member of the Sri Lankan side that won the 1996 Cricket World Cup. He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm off break bowler.

Kariyawasam Tirana Gamage Dhammika Prasad,or simply Dhammika Prasad,is a former Sri Lankan cricketer,and current bowling coach of the Nepal national cricket team. He is a right-arm fast-medium bowler. He has represented Sri Lanka in Test,One Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 cricket and played domestic cricket for the Sinhalese Sports Club and Basnahira North.

He was the International Affairs Adviser to Hon.Karu Jayasooriya,Speaker of the Parliament of Sri Lanka.He was the former Sri Lankan Ambassador to the United States. with concurrent accreditation as High Commissioner for Sri Lanka to Trinidad &Tobago and Ambassador (designate) to Mexico. He was also the Permanent Observer of Sri Lanka to the Washington-based Organization of American States (OAS).He has also served as Sri Lankan Ambassador to India,Afghanistan and Bhutan.
Kariyawasam Indipalage Charith Asalanka is a Sri Lankan professional cricketer who plays all three formats of the game for the national team and also serves as the vice-captain of the national team in T20I. A left-handed batsman,Asalanka made his international debut for Sri Lanka in June 2021. At No. 5 he's a destructive and efficient batter.
The Sri Lanka cricket team toured the United Arab Emirates in September and October 2017 to play two Tests,five One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches against the Pakistan cricket team. It included the first Tests that Sarfaraz Ahmed of Pakistan captained following the retirement of Misbah-ul-Haq. The tour also featured a T20I match in Pakistan,the first time that Sri Lanka had visited the country since 2009.

The league was intended to commence in 2018,but repeatedly postponed by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC). The inaugural edition took place in 2020 amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sri Lanka last played a match in Pakistan in October 2017,when the third T20I took place at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Pakistan won the ODI series 2–0,after the first match was washed out,and Sri Lanka won the T20I series 3–0.

It was the first tour of Zimbabwe since the International Cricket Council (ICC) lifted its suspension on Zimbabwe Cricket,due to government interference,in October 2019. Zimbabwe last played Test cricket in November 2018,in a two-match series against Bangladesh. The two teams last played a Test match against each other in July 2017,with Sri Lanka winning by four wickets. Zimbabwe have never beaten Sri Lanka in a Test match. Zimbabwe last played a home Test match in November 2017,against the West Indies.
The 2016–17 Premier League Tournament Tier B was the second division of the 29th season of first-class cricket in Sri Lanka's Premier Trophy. The tournament was contested by nine teams,starting on 2 December 2016 and concluding on 29 January 2017. Sri Lanka Ports Authority Cricket Club joined the division after they were relegated from the 2015–16 Tier A tournament.
Nimesh Kariyawasam is a Sri Lankan cricketer. He made his List A debut for Galle Cricket Club in Tier B of the 2015–16 Premier Limited Overs Tournament on 28 November 2015. He made his first-class debut for Panadura Sports Club in Tier B of the 2016–17 Premier League Tournament on 23 January 2017.

Originally,the tour was scheduled to take place in March 2020,but the series was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In December 2020,the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed the dates for the tour,with both Test matches played in Galle.

The Netherlands women's national cricket team toured Sri Lanka in November 1997. They played Sri Lanka in 3 One Day Internationals,winning the series 2–1. The matches were the first ever played by the Sri Lanka women's cricket team.
The Pakistan cricket team toured Sri Lanka in July 2022 to play two Test matches against the Sri Lankan cricket team. The Test series formed part of the 2021–2023 ICC World Test Championship. In April 2022,the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed that the series would be taking place. Originally,the tour was also going to include three One Day International (ODI) matches,but these were cancelled in May 2022,as they were not part of the 2020–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League. The fixtures for the tour were confirmed in June 2022. Pakistan last toured Sri Lanka for a Test series in June and July 2015. On 17 July 2022,Sri Lanka Cricket moved the second Test from the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo to the Galle International Stadium due to the economic crisis in the country.
