Gazeta de Nord-Vest (North-West Gazette) is a Romanian daily newspaper focused mainly on politics, public affairs, sports and economy. The first edition was printed in 1990. [1]

The development regions of Romania refer to the eight regional divisions created in Romania in 1998 in order to better co-ordinate regional development as Romania progressed towards accession to the European Union (EU). The development regions correspond to NUTS 2-level divisions in EU member states. Despite becoming increasingly significant in regional development projects, Romania's development regions do not actually have an administrative status and do not have a legislative or executive council or government. Rather, they serve a function for allocating EU PHARE funds for regional development, as well as for collection of regional statistics. They also co-ordinate a range of regional development projects and became members of the Committee of the Regions when Romania joined the EU on January 1, 2007.

The Battle of Carei was the last stage of recovering Romania's former territory of Northern Transylvania, ceded in 1940 to Hungary as a result of the Second Vienna Award. The battle occurred towards the end of World War II, in the wider context of the Battle of Romania and the Battle of Debrecen. On October 25, 1944, the cities of Carei and Satu Mare were freed from Hungarian and German control. By a decree from 1959, this day was established as the Romanian Armed Forces Day.

The Suceava–Oar Motorway, also known as the North Motorway, labelled A14, is a planned motorway in the northern part of Romania that upon completion will link Southern Bukovina to Maramureș and further to the Central and Western Europe countries. It will begin in Suceava and pass through Vatra Dornei, Bistrița, Dej, Baia Mare and Satu Mare, connecting with Hungary's also-planned M49 expressway near Oar. It will be 335 km long.
