Genevieve Manon Florence Chenneour (born 1997 in Northallerton), formerly Genevieve Martha Manon Randall [1] is an English actor who played Miss Clara Livingston in the Netflix production Bridgerton and has a lead role in the film 1242: Gateway To The West. [2]

Chenneour holds dual British and Irish citizenship. She was until retirement in 2016 a professional athlete who represented Team GB at the Baku 2015 European Games, [3] [4] World Aquatics and European Championships in the solo, duet, and team synchronised swimming events. [5]

Early life and education

Chenneour was born in Northallerton and brought up in Faringdon, Oxfordshire. She was educated at King Alfred's Academy, [3] and Oxford Brookes University. [6] [7]

Career

Synchronised swimming

Chenneour competed internationally with Great Britain at the 2013 World Aquatics Championships. She held the Team GB UK Sport Athlete Podium Potential Award from 2013 to 2014. [8] She competed in the 2014 European Aquatics Championships and finished thirteenth in the women's solo and duet events. [9] In 2015 she competed at the European Games in Baku and the 2015 World Aquatics Championships in Kazan, Russia. [10] In 2015, she was named ASA Aquatic Awards Performance Athlete of the Year alongside her duet partner, Jodie Cowie [11] and was awarded an International Olympic Committee Olympic Solidarity Athlete Scholarship.

Synchronized swimming or artistic swimming is a sport where swimmers perform a synchronized choreographed routine, accompanied by music. The sport is governed internationally by World Aquatics. Gemma Mengual Civil is a Spanish synchronised swimmer. She has competed at the 2000, 2004 and 2008 Summer Olympics. On 15 February 2012 she announced her retirement. After retiring she became involved with coaching the national synchronised swimming team. However in June 2015 Mengual announced that she would return to competition with the aim of competing at the 2015 World Aquatics Championships in Kazan, Russia, in the mixed duet with Pau Ribas, whom she had previously coached. Although she had previously indicated that she would not compete beyond the World Championships, in September of that year she confirmed via social media that she would compete in the duet in the 2016 Summer Olympics with Ona Carbonell.

She competed in the women's duet event at the 2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan.
