Gente (English: People) is an Italian-language song recorded by Laura Pausini and written by Cheope, Marco Marati and Angelo Valsiglio. [1] It was released in 1994 as the second single from Pausini's second album, Laura . The song bears a striking resemblance to the Marco Ferradini song "Teorema."

A Spanish-language version of the song was published by Pausini in her 1994's album Laura Pausini . Both versions of the song were re-recorded with a new arrangement by Celso Valli for Pausini's first greatest hits album, The Best of Laura Pausini: E ritorno da te / Lo mejor de Laura Pausini: Volveré junto a ti [2] and later would be re-recordered with a new arrangement for Pausini's second greatest hits album, 20 - The Greatest Hits / 20 - Grandes Éxitos .

Pausini sang it for the first time on 23 February 1993, during the 43rd Sanremo Music Festival. On 27 February 1993, the song was announced the winner of the competition in the newcomers' section, receiving 7,464 votes. The single reached number five on the Italian Musica e dischi Singles Chart and later became an Italian standard. A few months after its original release, "La solitudine" was included in Pausini's self-titled first album, released on 18 May 1993.

El día que me quieras is an Argentine tango with music by Carlos Gardel and lyrics by Alfredo Le Pera. It is considered one of the most popular songs of the 20th century and one of the best Latin songs of all time. Originally featured in the 1935 film of the same name, sung by Gardel himself, it became a heavily recorded tango standard, even by artists outside of the realm of tango. It has subsequently been covered by various artists such as Luis Miguel, Julio Iglesias, Michael Bolton Roberto Carlos, Raphael de España and Shlomo Idov who translated the song to Hebrew.
