geoDefense is a 2008 tower defense game created for iOS devices developed by American studio Critical Thought Games. A sequel, geoDefense Swarm , was released on September 14, 2009, and was listed by Time magazine as one of the best games of the year. [1] An Xbox Live enabled version was released for Windows Phone on June 8, 2011. As of the release of iPhone iOS 11, the game was removed from the App Store because of incompatibility.
geoDefense follows the gameplay structure of typical tower defense games. Enemies (called Creeps) move towards the player's lives and towers must be placed around the map to appropriately prevent and destroy their progress. Gameplay takes place on a vector display-like field with a preset path leading from where the Creeps enter the field to the player's lives. Levels are in the form of these paths with varying limits on tower prices, enemy occurrences and lives.
Desktop Tower Defense is a Flash-based tower defense browser game created by Paul Preece in March 2007. The game had been played over 15.7 million times as of July 2007, and was one of Webware 100's top ten entertainment web applications of 2007. Strategic choice and positioning of defensive elements is an essential strategy of the genre.
Defense Grid: The Awakening is a tower defense video game developed by Hidden Path Entertainment for Windows and Xbox Live Arcade on the Xbox 360. The game was one of the titles promoted by Microsoft during their Game Developers Conference keynote speech on February 20, 2008. Fieldrunners is a tower defense video game developed for several platforms. Bloons Tower Defense is a series of tower defense games under the Bloons series created and produced by Ninja Kiwi. The game was initially developed as a browser game, built upon the Adobe Flash platform and released in mid 2007. Later games in the series expanded to support various mobile platforms, including Android, iOS, Windows Phone, PlayStation Portable, Nintendo DSi, Windows, Linux and MacOS. Games in the Bloons series older than Bloons TD 6 are available through the Ninja Kiwi Archive on Steam.
Infinity Blade was an action role-playing game developed by Chair Entertainment and Epic Games and released through the Apple App Store on December 9, 2010. It was the first iOS video game to run on Unreal Engine 3. In the game, the unnamed player character fights a series of one-on-one battles in a derelict castle to face the immortal God King. When in battle, players swipe the screen to attack and parry, and tap the screen to dodge and block enemy attacks. Upon defeat, the player restarts the game as the character's descendant with the same items and experience level.

Kingdom Rush is a 2011 tower defense game developed by Ironhide Game Studio and published by Armor Games. In the game's medieval fantasy setting, players take control of a general serving under King Denas of Linirea, who must defend the land from an onslaught of evil monsters. Each level is composed of a number of pre-set roads, which the player can place defensive towers around to fight off the approaching monsters. Slaying enemies gives the player gold, which they can use to buy new towers or upgrade existing ones to improve their capabilities.
Jetpack Joyride is a side-scrolling endless runner action video game created by Halfbrick Studios. It was released for iOS devices on the App Store on September 1, 2011 and has been ported to other systems. It was released online as a Flash version on May 11, 2012; on Android on September 28; on PlayStation Portable on November 20 in North America and November 21 in Europe; on BlackBerry PlayBook on December 13, 2012; on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita on December 21 in Europe and December 31 in North America; on BlackBerry 10 on March 6, 2013; and on Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8 on June 5. Sonic Dash is a 2013 endless runner mobile game developed by Hardlight and published by Japanese game studio Sega. It is Hardlight's second Sonic the Hedgehog game, the first being 2012's Sonic Jump. The game was released in March 2013 for iOS, November 2013 for Android, and December 2014 for Windows Phone and Windows, along with an arcade release in November 2015 as Sonic Dash Extreme. It was initially released as a paid application, but was made free-to-play a month after its iOS release.
Action Button Entertainment is a video game development studio consisting of Tim Rogers, Brent Porter, Michael Kerwin, and Nicholas Wasilewski that has produced five games: Ziggurat (2012), TNNS (2013), Ten by Eight (2013), Tuffy the Corgi (2014), and Videoball (2016). The group convened in 2010 as Rogers worked on Ziggurat based on an idea he had while playing Angry Birds that he could not complete on his own. Porter joined Action Button after responding to a call for artists Rogers made via Twitter, and Kerwin joined based on a connection he had with Rogers from producing a mockup of a game concept Rogers outlined in his Kotaku column.

Bloons TD 6 is a 2018 tower defense game developed and published by Ninja Kiwi, where various monkeys pop "bloons". The sixth and latest entry in the Bloons Tower Defense series, it first released on June 13, 2018, for iOS and Android. It was later released on Microsoft Windows in December 2018, and macOS in March 2020 via Steam. It was later released in Epic Games Store on June 19, 2022. In February 2022, Bloons TD 6+ was released for Apple Arcade. On June 12, 2023, Bloons TD 6Netflix was released on iOS and Android for Netflix members only. On September 5, 2023, it was released on Xbox One and Xbox Series X, and on July 31, 2024 on PlayStation 4 and 5.
Kingdom Rush: Origins is a 2014 tower defense game developed by Ironhide Game Studio. The third entry in the Kingdom Rush series, it was released for iOS and Android on November 20, 2014, and for Nintendo Switch on September 17, 2020. In the game, players take control of a nation of elves as they attempt to defend themselves from their evil enemies. Monsters can be defeated using four types of defensive towers, which can all be upgraded in order to better fight against increasing waves of enemies.
The Creeps! is a 2008 tower defense video game developed by Super Squawk Software for iOS and Android devices. The player must prevent monsters from reaching a child's bed by placing towers that destroy them. The Creeps! was followed by sequels The Creeps! Holiday Edition and The Creeps! 2.
