Rear Admiral Geoffrey Mawuli Biekro (born 28 August 1952) [1] is a Ghanaian Military Officer. He served as the Chief of Naval Staff from March 2013 to January 2016. His appointment to the position was done after Vice Admiral Matthew Quashie was elevated to Chief of Defence Staff . [2] [3]
The Naval Intelligence Division (NID) was created as a component part of the Admiralty War Staff in 1912. It was the intelligence arm of the British Admiralty before the establishment of a unified Defence Intelligence Staff in 1964. It dealt with matters concerning British naval plans, with the collection of naval intelligence. It was also known as "Room 39", after its room number at the Admiralty.
The Second Sea Lord and Deputy Chief of Naval Staff is deputy to the First Sea Lord and the second highest-ranking officer to currently serve in the Royal Navy and is responsible for personnel and naval shore establishments.
