Geoffrey Oji is a Nigerian singer and songwriter best known for winning the seventh season of Project Fame West Africa . [2] [3] [4] He won the competition after years of consistently auditioning for the show. [5] Geoffrey is currently under a management deal with 960 Music Group courtesy of a partnership between 960 Music Group and Ultima Productions. [6] His debut single 'Bursting My Brain' was released on January 30, 2015. [7]

Early life

Geoffrey was born in Benue State and grew up in Kaduna, Kaduna State. He attended St. Saviour Primary and Nursery school, Kaduna and later, St. Patricks Secondary School, Kaduna. [8] Geoffrey lost his dad on Christmas Day of 2001, [9] which made life difficult for his family, prompting a decision to leave home and move to Lagos in search for greener pastures when he was just 15.

On arriving Lagos, Geoffrey found out his uncle in Lagos was not doing well enough to support him so he had to sleep in public places for about a year, while honing his music skills in church and contesting in singing shows. [10] Before contesting in and winning the seventh season of Project Fame, Geoffrey auditioned in the first 6 seasons of the show and lost out. [11]

Musical career

After winning Project Fame in September 2014, Geoffrey spent the next few months performing at high-profile events, establishing a presence in the real world and recording music. [12] On January 30, 2015, Geoffrey debuted his single, 'Bursting My Brain' which was well received by fans and critics alike [13] and got moderate airplay on Nigerian radio stations.

The video to Bursting My Brain was released on May 25, 2015 [14] [15] which further boosted Geoffrey's profile and gained him more recognition when the video started airing on major TV networks.

Shortly after, 960 Music released Geoffrey's second single titled Monalisa, an ode to a beautiful woman and which can be described as a continuation to Bursting My Brain. A video for Monalisa directed by Mr. Miagi was released on that same day on the Project Fame platform. The single received even more positive reviews and further boosted Geoffrey's profile. [16]

In October 2015, Geoffrey released his debut EP titled Bursted, [17] which was launched on the last airing date of MTN Project Fame Season 8.

It is a regional version of Star Academy reality series that was developed and is licensed worldwide by Endemol. The show used to feature contestants from Ghana, Liberia, Nigeria and Sierra Leone, but Liberia and Sierra Leone have been dropped since the 2014 Ebola Outbreak. The show is broadcast by networks in these four countries and across the African continent.

His second studio album, titled Desire, was released in February 2013. It supported by the singles "Kukere", "Ur Waist", "Flavour", "Sexy Mama", and "Jombolo". He won the Artist of the Year award at The Headies 2013. In October 2016, Iyanya announced on Instagram that he signed a record deal with Mavin Records. Few months prior, he signed a management deal with Temple Management Company. He first announced his intentions to leave Made Men Music Group in July 2016. In 2024 Iyanya release his new album, 'Once Upon A Cat' Under the Made Men Music Group Record Label.

He won the competition at the age of 18, making him the youngest winner so far. Shortly after, Jeff was offered a management deal with 960 Music Group and Ultima Productions.

Nigerian recording artist Runtown has released one studio album, seventeen singles and ten music videos. His debut single was released in 2007 as an upcoming artist. He shot to limelight in 2014 upon the release of "Gallardo", a song which features vocals from Davido and was released as the first single off his debut studio album Ghetto University. Gallardo went on to win "Best Collaboration of the Year" at the 2014 edition of the Nigeria Entertainment Awards. On 23 November 2015, Runtown released his debut studio album titled Ghetto University via MTN Music Plus through Eric Many Entertainment. The album generated over ₦35million on the music portal thus earning him a spot in the list of "Top 5 Most Streamed Artist".

Ayoola Oladapo Agboola also known as KDDO is a Nigerian record producer, songwriter, and artist. He's best known for producing and writing "Under The Influence" by Chris Brown, charting at number 1 on the Billboard Rhythmic Chart & number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100. In addition KDDO wrote and produced Afrobeats longest charting Billboard single "Fall" by Davido, renowned for breaking Afrobeat Music globally. The song peaked on US R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart at number 13 and US Hot R&B Songs chart at number 25 on Billboard. KDDO is the first Afrobeats producer in history to be certified by the Recording Industry Association of America, after Fall became a certified gold record in the US. He is currently managed by Christian McCurdy & Rehan Manickam at LEGION Management.

Praise Ugbede Adejo, better known by his stage name Praiz, is a Nigerian multi award-winning R&B singer, songwriter, and producer. Praiz's music career hit the limelight after he finished second runner-up at the maiden season of Project Fame West Africa. He is best known for releasing hit singles like "Rich and Famous", "Sisi" and "I Love You". Tolulope Abraham Adesina (Tolu) is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, recording artist, music producer, and actor born in Kaduna, Northern Nigeria. He was a finalist at the 2010 MTN Project Fame.
