George Nonomura (born February 5, 1958) is an American fencer. He competed in the team foil event at the 1988 Summer Olympics. [1]

As a senior at Sikeston High School, Woods became the first Missouri high school athlete to top 60 ft, setting a Sikeston school record that still stands to this day. He would go on to attend Southern Illinois University.
Nauru competed in the Olympic Games for the first time at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, United States from 19 July to 4 August 1996. The delegation consisted of three weightlifters; Quincy Detenamo, Gerard Garabwan, and Marcus Stephen. Their best performances were by Detenamo, who came 20th in the men's 76 kg category and Garabwan who finished 24th in the men's 91 kg event. Stephen failed to finish his event, but would later become President of the Republic.

She won the gold medal as member of the first-place U.S. team in the 4×100-meter freestyle relay, together with Margaret Woodbridge, Irene Guest and Ethelda Bleibtrey. The American relay team set a new world record of 5:11.6 in the event final. Individually, she also won bronze medals for her third-place performances in the women's 100-meter freestyle (1:17.2) and the women's 300-meter freestyle (4:52.0).

Richard Edwin "Rich" Saeger is an American former competition swimmer, Olympic gold medalist, and former world record-holder. At the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, Saeger earned a gold medal by swimming for the winning U.S. team in the final of the men's 4×200-meter freestyle relay. The American team of Geoff Gaberino, David Larson, Bruce Hayes and Saeger set a new world record in the Olympic preliminary heat (7:18.87), only for the Americans to break the record again in the event final later on the same day.
George Phineas Guthrie, Jr. was an American track and field athlete who competed in the 1924 Summer Olympics. He was born in Elyria, Ohio and died in Columbus, Ohio. In 1924 he was disqualified in the 110 metre hurdles final at the Paris Games. He finished third in this race but was disqualified when he knocked down three hurdles, which was forbidden by the rules in force at that time.

George William Lermond was an American long-distance runner. He competed in the men's 5000 metres at the 1924 Summer Olympics. A captain in the United States Army, he died in 1940 attempting to save his son in a house fire. He was buried at Arlington National Cemetery, after President Franklin Roosevelt gave his permission.

Followed the establishment of All Japan Gymnastics Federation in 1930, the team first appeared at the 1932 Summer Olympics and gradually became the major force till this day. For nearly two decades, from 1960 to 1978, Japanese men was dominant and won every gold medal at the Olympics and World Championships.
