George Edward Shilling (born 1966 in Redbridge, London) is an English musician, record producer, composer and audio engineer. He is the son of Eric Shilling, formerly of the English National Opera and actress Erica Johns. [1] He studied cello at the Royal College of Music and is best known as an audio engineer, a skill he was taught by Jerry Boys of Abbey Road and Livingston Recording Studios in London. [2]
Shilling has worked with a diverse range of musical genres including artists such as Gabrielle, New Radicals, The Corrs, Blur, Texas, Teenage Fanclub, Primal Scream, Nicole Appleton, Johnny Hallyday [2] Oasis, Mike Oldfield, Eternal, Boy George, James Brown, Mark Almond, Bernard Butler, The Fall, Steve Winwood and the popular light opera duo Operababes. His first notable success was engineering the hit single The Only Way Is Up (1988) by Yazz and the Plastic Population and released by Big Life. His credits as Record producer include the Soup Dragons's album Lovegod which included their cover of the Rolling Stones hit I'm Free and the most accomplished of the three albums My Life Story , The Golden Mile. He wrote a significant number of songs and also recorded tracks for the English down-tempo band Sundae Club. [3] [5] He co-wrote "London Fantasy" for the French singer Nolwenn Leroy on her album Histoires Naturelles (2005), which was produced by Laurent Voulzy. [6] In 2009 and 2010 he hosted sessions with Ocean Colour Scene at his studio in the Cotswolds. [4] and played cello on their album Saturday . In 2010 he also recorded and mixed Classical Relief For Haiti's single The Prayer, featuring a host of classical crossover artistes including Darius Campbell, Rhydian, Paul Potts and Julian Lloyd Webber.
Primal Scream are a Scottish rock band originally formed in 1982 in Glasgow by Bobby Gillespie (vocals) and Jim Beattie. The band's current lineup consists of Gillespie, Andrew Innes (guitar), Simone Butler (bass), and Darrin Mooney (drums). Barrie Cadogan has toured and recorded with the band since 2006 as a replacement after the departure of guitarist Robert "Throb" Young.
Vanishing Point is the fifth studio album by Scottish rock band Primal Scream. It was released on 7 July 1997 in the United Kingdom by Creation Records and in the United States by Reprise Records. It peaked at number 2 on the UK Albums Chart. The album shows inspiration from genres such as dub, ambient, dance music, and krautrock, as well as bands such as Motörhead, Can, and the Stooges. It was the band's first album to feature Gary 'Mani' Mounfield on bass, formerly of the Stone Roses, although Marco Nelson played bass on "Burning Wheel", "Star", "If They Move, Kill 'Em'", and "Stuka". Other guest appearances on Vanishing Point include Augustus Pablo, Glen Matlock, and the Memphis Horns.
Echo Dek is a remix album by the Scottish alternative rock band Primal Scream. It was released in October 1997 and followed the group's fifth studio album by less than four months. It peaked at number forty-three on the UK Album Chart and number ninety-seven on the Japanese Oricon Album Chart.
Matthias Paul, known professionally as Paul van Dyk is a German DJ, record producer and musician. One of the first true renowned DJs, van Dyk was the first artist to receive a Grammy Award nomination in the newly added category of Best Dance/Electronic album for his 2003 release Reflections. About Time is the eighth solo studio album by Steve Winwood, released in 2003. It was his first album since 1997 and it featured a return to a musical style more in line with his earlier work with Traffic. That basic style is emphasized in the three piece set of the band: Hammond Organ, guitar and drums/percussion, joined on various tracks by saxophone, flute and additional percussion characteristic of the Traffic sound.

"Hey Little Girl" is a single released by Australian band Icehouse, the second single from the band's 1982 album, Primitive Man. The album and single were co-produced by band member and the track's writer, Iva Davies, and Keith Forsey. It was released in November 1982 on Regular Records in 7" vinyl single and 12" vinyl single formats. UK and Europe releases by Chrysalis Records were also on 7" and 12" formats, but with different track listings. The single was then released in the US in 1983 on the same formats. On "Hey Little Girl", Iva Davies uses the Linn drum machine—the first for an Australian recording. It peaked at No. 7 on the Australian singles chart and No. 2 in Switzerland, No. 5 in Germany, Top 20 in UK, Sweden and Netherlands, and No. 31 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart.
The Berlin Tapes is a soundtrack album, credited to Australian rock musician Iva Davies and Icehouse. The record was a collaboration between Davies and classical music composer Max Lambert to accompany the Sydney Dance Company's production of the ballet Berlin, for which Icehouse performed live on stage.
People Move On is the debut studio album of English singer-songwriter Bernard Butler that was released on 6 April 1998 through Creation Records. After a dispute with David McAlmont over the McAlmont & Butler project, Butler collaborated with various artists before starting his solo career. Following a brief period with Sony LRD in early 1996, by the end of that year, Butler had signed to Creation and switched managers from Geoff Travis to Gail Colson. Butler produced the sessions for People Move On at RAK and Air Studios, both in London, between February and July 1997. The album, which is described as a pop, rock, and folk release, has been compared to the work of Jeff Buckley, Neil Young, and Wilco.

Hands on In Between is a remix album from Paul van Dyk, released on 24 November 2008. This album consists of two CDs of remixed songs featured on the original In Between album in 2007. Selections from this album were remixed by various trance artists in the scene. It also includes the winning remix from van Dyk's "Far Away Remix Competition" featured on Beatport earlier in the year. The winning remix was promised a release, in which progressive trance producer Mateo Murphy was given the honour. As well as a release on the "Far Away" single, his remix made it onto this compilation too.
