Gerd Barkman is a shooting competitor for New Zealand.

Life

At the 1994 Commonwealth Games she won a silver medal in the 10m air pistol pairs with Jocelyn Lees. [1] She also competed in the 10m air pistol, coming 4th; the 25m sport pistol, coming 7th; and the 25m sport pistol pairs, coming 4th.

Nino Salukvadze is a Georgian sport shooter. She is a ten-time Olympian, the record for appearances by a female athlete and tying Canadian showjumper Ian Millar for the most for any athlete. Salukvadze has won medals on three occasions, while competing on three different Olympic teams – for the Soviet Union in 1988, then the Unified Team at Barcelona in 1992 after the collapse of the Soviet Union, and lastly for Georgia beginning in 1996.

Li Duihong is a female Chinese sports shooter. She won the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games in the 25m sport pistol. Li was born in Daqing, Heilongjiang. She has a twin sister named Li Shuanghong.

New Zealand sent a team of 134 competitors and 57 officials to the 1994 Commonwealth Games, which were held in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. The flagbearer at the opening ceremony was Brian Fowler, and at the closing ceremony was Stephen Petterson.

Subedar Gurpreet Singh is an Indian sports shooter. He won two gold medals in shooting events at the 2010 Commonwealth Games held in India. He paired up with Vijay Kumar to win a gold in the Men's 25m Rapid Fire Pistol (Pairs) on 7 October 2010. On the same day, he and Omkar Singh won another gold medal in the Men's 10m Air Pistol (Pairs). He also won an individual bronze in Men's 25m rapid fire pistol (Singles) at the event. He hails from and is currently serving the Indian army.

Hayley Chapman is an Australian sport shooter who represented Australia at the 2012 Summer Olympics in shooting in the 25m pistol event where she placed 34th out of 39.

Julian Lawton is a shooting competitor for New Zealand.

Shooting, for the 2013 Island Games, took place at the Warwick Camp, the Finger, and Cooper's Island, Bermuda. Competition took place from 14 to 19 July 2013.

Linda Maree Ryan is an Australian sport shooter. She has been selected to compete for Australia in two editions of the Olympic Games, and has collected a total of thirteen medals in a major international competition, spanning the ISSF World Cup series, the Oceanian Championships, and the Commonwealth Games. Ryan also trains under head coach Anatoliy Babushkin for the national team, while shooting at her home club, Outtrim Pistol Club in South Gippsland, Victoria.

Teo Shun Xie is a Singaporean sport shooter. In 2014, Teo set a final meet record in the women's air pistol to claim her first gold medal at the Commonwealth Games.

Manu Bhaker is an Indian sport shooter. She has won 2 medals at the Olympics, 21 medals at the World Championships and World Cup, 1 medal at Commonwealth Games, and 5 medals at the Asian Games and Asian Championships. Bhaker won the bronze medal in the 10m pistol event at the 2024 Paris Olympics and became the first Indian woman shooter to win an Olympics medal. She won another bronze in the 10m pistol mixed team event, thus becoming the first Indian to win two medals in a single Olympic Games.

Kim Eagles is a Canadian sport shooter. Eagles won a gold medal at the 1999 Pan American Games in the 10 metre air pistol event. She also participated in the 2000 Summer Olympics in the 10 metre air pistol event.

Carol Anne Page was a British sport shooter. She represented Great Britain at the Olympic Games and World and European Championship level as well as representing England at the Commonwealth Games, winning two medals in 1994.

Veronika Major is a Hungarian sports shooter. She competed in the women's 10 metre air pistol event at the 2020 Summer Olympics, and won bronze medal in the women's 25 metre pistol event at the 2024 Summer Olympics.

The New Zealand Shooting Federation (NZSF) is the governing body for Target Shooting Sports in New Zealand. It holds responsibility for selecting and developing national teams for World Championships, as well as the Olympic and Commonwealth Games.
