Gandaki zone (Nepali: गण्डकी अञ्चलListen was one of the fourteen zones of Nepal, located in the Western Development Region. It was named as Sapta Gandaki after the seven tributaries that makes up the Gandaki River. Pokhara served as its regional and zonal headquarter. It was also the birthplace of Bhanubhakta Acharya, first poet of Nepal.

Balambu is a village and former Village Development Committee that is now part of Chandragiri Municipality in Kathmandu District in Province No. 3 of central Nepal. At the time of the 2011 Nepal census it had a population of 7,323 and had 1,734 houses in it. Porters play a vital role in Nepal's tourism industry; every year they support thousands of tourists in tackling the iconic trails of the Everest region. Often climbing multiple time during the high season, the trekking industry provides an income that helps porters earn a living and support their families. However, they are also often the least valued on the mountain and because of the pressures to get an income can face exploitation and mistreatment from trekking operators. To address these issues, Kathmandu Environmental Education Program (KEEP) has created the Porter Awareness and Welfare training program. This provides porters with information about their work rights as well as health, hygiene and general First Aid skills. The program also offers guidance on appropriate trekking clothing and gear, and how to access KEEP's Porter Clothing Centre, which loans warm clothing and appropriate footwear to porters.
Sankhar is a village development committee in Chapakot Municipality of Syangja District in Gandaki Province of central Nepal. At the time of the 2011 Nepal census it had a population of 4,630 people residing in 1,055 individual households. Majuwa, Mohami, Bhattarai Danda, Keladighat, Patasar, Panglung, Salghari, Manechaur, Khasa Bankata, Pipalchhap, Khardi, Samakot, Tangle, Gahate, Ajingare, and Hadiban are major villages in Sankhar.
Anbu Khaireni is a Municipality in Tanahu District in the Gandaki Zone of central Nepal which was established in 2015. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 11,450 people living in 2234 individual households. In the census of 2011 the municipality has 16,382 inhabitants.
Bhimad is a municipality in Tanahu District in the Gandaki Zone of central Nepal. At the time of the 2011 Nepal census the city had a population of 8,414 people living in 2,191 individual households. It is 30 minutes away from Khairenitar. Due to its historic importance, a plan is underway to incorporate the Shukla Gandaki municipality and form the Bhimad Sub-metropolitan City in the near future. This is being done in order to improve the integrated development of this region because the city is currently experiencing accelerated development. While Bhimad lacks sufficient hospital facilities for its population size, there are many health centers in various communities.
Vyas (Byas), is a municipality of Tanahun District located in Gandaki Province in Nepal and incorporates the village Damauli, the district's headquarter, for which the municipality is also often referred to as Damauli. The municipality was established by merging the former Village development committee Damauli with several of its neighbors, the most recent merger being the one with Pokhari Bhanjyang in 2014. It lies on the bank of Madi Khola.
Purkot is a village development committee in Tanahu District in the Gandaki Zone of central Nepal. At the time of the 2011 Nepal census it had a population of 7,188 people, 3,044 male and 4,144 female. This VDC is located on the highway called Chame highway (Dumre-Besishahar) and has a small town called Baisjanger. The Marshyandi river flows through this place.
Raipur (राइपुर) is part of Shuklagandaki Municipality in Tanahu District of Gandaki Province [Province No. 4], in central Nepal. The whole previous Raipur Village Development Committee is now included as the Ward No 11 of Shuklagandaki Municipality in March 2017. The head of the Raipur Ward No 11 is Dal Bahadur Thapa. According to the Population Census of 1991, it had a population of 4581 people living in 850 individual households. Raipur is situated in about 18 km west from Dulegaunda Town & about 20 km from Putalibazar of Syangja District. From this village Of the top part called Raipurkot, we can have a panoramic view of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Macchapuchre Range in the north, green hills, fertile land in the river banks, terraces and many others places with seasonal fruits and vegetables. The lifestyle of people living in Raipur is simple, and the majority of them are farmers. Most of the people from Raipur are migrated to Dulegaunda, Belchautara, Dhorfridi, Pokhara, Syangja, Chitwan, Kathmandu and other urban areas. About 90% of youths of Raipur are at Third Countries and Gulf for unskilled and low skilled employments.. Recently the village is connected with the national grid of electricity network. Not all the areas of Raipur has good drinking water facilities. People, in the hillside such as Bishauna, Chilaunekhark, Baaspani (Gaunpahal), Thumkidada, Simleshwara, Samtari, Bangalekhola have to spend most of their morning time in collecting drinking water from pond.
Tanahunsur is a village development committee in Tanahu District in the Gandaki Zone of central Nepal. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 2955 people living in 615 individual households.
Rampur is a municipality in Palpa District in Lumbini Province of West southern Nepal. According to hindu mythology, Maharishi Vasistha taught Yogavasistha to lord Rama in the cave of Rampur. Rampur is 65 km northeast from the headquarter city Tansen. The valley is bounded by Syangja District in the north, Tanahun District in the northeast, and Nawalparasi District in the east. The popular religious river Kaligandaki disconnects the boundary in the northern part.
Sunwal is a municipality in Parasi District. It lies in Western Development Region, Lumbini Zone. It was announced as a municipality on 2011 combining two neighboring Village Development Committees; Sunwal and Swathi; of the district. It is the urban core of a rapidly growing urban agglomerate in Nepal and it belongs to the State no.5 under new constitution.

Shuklagandaki is a municipality located in Tanahu District of Gandaki Zone in the Western Development Region, Nepal. The municipality was formed on 18 May 2014. It was formed by merging three Village Development Committees: Dhorphirdi, Dulegaunda and Khairenitar. And further more Thaprek, Raipur and Phirphire VDC are merged on 5 March 2017.
Bhanu is a municipality of Tanahun District in Gandaki Zone of western Nepal. The municipality was established on 19 September 2015 by merging the existing Bhanu village development committee or VDC, Barbhanjyang VDCs, Rupakot (VDC), Tanahunsur Village Development Committee, Purkot VDC, Mirlung VDC, Satiswara VDC, Risti VDC, Basantapur VDC and Chok Chisapani VDC. The center of the municipality is established in former VDC Office of Bhanu. After merging the population of all of the VDCs, it had a total population of 46,179 according to 2011 Nepal census. After the government decision the number of municipalities has reached 217 in Nepal. Nepali poet Bhanubhakta Acharya was born in Bhanu Municipality. It was named after him.
Ghansi or Ghasi was a Nepali grasscutter who is best remembered for inspiring Bhanubhakta Acharya to translate the Sanskrit epic Ramayana into the Nepali language. He made money by cutting grass and selling it. Ghansi built a well in order to be remembered after his death. Not much is known about him except that he belonged to the Pantha caste and lived near the well. He has been portrayed by multiple actors in film, and the tourist destination Ghansikuwa was named after him.
