The Gibraltar men's national field hockey team represents Gibraltar in international men's field hockey and is controlled by Gibraltar Hockey. [2]
Gibraltar has never qualified for the Summer Olympics or the World Cup. They have however participated once in the European championship, in 1978 where they finished 12th out of 12.

The England men's national field hockey team competes in most major international tournaments except the Olympic Games. England's only appearance at the Olympics was at London 1908 when they won gold; since then English players have competed at the Olympics as part of the combined Great Britain national field hockey team.
The Germany men's national field hockey team is one of the most successful sides in the world, winning gold at the Summer Olympics four times, the Hockey World Cup 3 times, the EuroHockey Nations Championship eight times and the Hockey Champions Trophy nine times.
The Argentina national field hockey team, represents Argentina in field hockey and is governed by the Argentine Hockey Confederation (CAH). The current coach is Mariano Ronconi, who was appointed after Germán Orozco was let go in 2020. The team is currently sixth in the FIH World Rankings.

The European Hockey Federation is a European sports federation for field hockey, based in Brussels. It is the umbrella organisation for all European national federations, and organises the Euro Hockey League. Marijke Fleuren was elected president on 22 August 2011. In reaction to the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, the European Hockey Federation banned the participation of all Russian and Belarusian athletes and officials from all events sanctioned by the Federation.

The teams of the member nations of International Hockey Federation (FIH), field hockey's world governing body, are ranked based on their game results and performance. The rankings were introduced in October 2003.

The 2023 Men's FIH Hockey World Cup was the 15th edition of the Men's FIH Hockey World Cup, the quadrennial world championship for men's national field hockey teams organized by the International Hockey Federation. It was held at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar and at the 20,000 seat Birsa Munda International Hockey Stadium in Rourkela, India from 13 to 29 January 2023. On 5 January 2023, Hockey India launched the hockey anthem, Jai Ho Hindustan Ki for the world cup. This was composed by Prem Anand and sung by Sukhwinder Singh.
