Gillette College is a two-year community college in Gillette, Wyoming. The college is the eighth and newest community college in the state of Wyoming, separating from the Northern Wyoming Community College District in August of 2021. [2] The newly formed independent community college is led by Chairman Josh McGrath [3] and President Dr. Janell Oberlander. [4] The college offers Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees, as well as certificate and applied science programs that prepare students for skilled trades such as welding and industrial electricity. [5]
While the newly formed independent institution seeks its own accreditation, it remains partnered to NWCCD to offer accredited degrees and certifications to students. [6]
The estimated tuition for the 2018–19 year with 15 credits per semester was $12,439 for Wyoming residents, $13,567 for Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) students, and $16,951 for out-of-state and international students. The amount includes an average cost of books, supplies, and room and board. [7] The cost per credit is $132 for Wyoming Residents, $179 for WUE students, and $320 for out-of-state and international students for the first 11 credits and begins to decrease ending with 18 credits costing $100 each. The nursing program at the college started in January 1983 and it accepted 15 students a year to become licensed practical nurses (LPN). The program expanded to include training registered nurses (RN) in 1987. The nursing program currently accepts 32 students a year and in 2017, 244 people applied to enter the program which starts each year in the Fall. [9]
As a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association, Gillette College is reestablishing their athletics program in Fall of 2023. Those sports include men's and women's basketball, men's and women's soccer, and volleyball in Region IX. The rodeo team was a member of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association. [10] [11]
Gillette College students have two choices for on-campus housing. A three-story residential hall called Inspiration Hall or Tanner Village, apartment-style suites. [12]
Gillette College has a show choir called Energy City Voices, a program that was cut along with athletics in 2020. The program returned to the institution in Fall of 2023. Energy City Voices is popular in Gillette, known for being a program with great choreography and pop-rock vocals. [13]
St. John Fisher University is a private university in Pittsford, New York. It is named after John Fisher, an English Catholic cardinal and saint. It was named St. John Fisher College until July 1, 2022.
Wilkes University is a private university in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. It has over 2,200 undergraduates and over 2,200 graduate students. Wilkes was founded in 1933 as a satellite campus of Bucknell University, and became an independent institution in 1947, naming itself Wilkes College, after English radical politician John Wilkes after whom Wilkes-Barre is named. The school was granted university status in January 1990. It is classified among "Doctoral/Professional Universities" and accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
Wor–Wic Community College is a public community college in Salisbury, Maryland. The college's name is a portmanteau of Maryland's Worcester and Wicomico counties. It was founded in 1975 and operated as a "college without walls" in the two counties for 20 years before constructing a campus in Salisbury in 1994. In 1989, state legislation was enacted to allow Somerset County residents to attend Wor-Wic at the in-county tuition rate.
Henry Ford College (HFC) is a public community college in Dearborn, Michigan. The institution, established in 1938 by the Dearborn Fordson Public Schools Board of Education, is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. The institution was originally named Fordson Junior College. It adopted the name Dearborn Junior College in 1946, then Henry Ford Community College (HFCC) in 1952, after the Henry Ford Trade School which closed and whose assets were transferred to the Dearborn School Board of Education. The name was changed to Henry Ford College in 2014.
Georgia Highlands College is a public college in northwest Georgia. It has locations in Floyd County, Cartersville, Marietta, and Dallas and serves the northwest parts of Georgia, as well as parts of east Alabama and southeast Tennessee. A member of the University System of Georgia, the college was originally a community college and has since expanded to also offer bachelor degrees in healthcare management, logistics and supply chain management, dental hygiene, criminal justice, and an RN-BSN program. Students are now being accepted into a bachelor's of health science degree launched in 2020 and an associate's entrepreneurship pathway launched in 2021. Between 5,700 and 6,100 students are enrolled at GHC in any given semester, representing 49 different countries. In 2020, the college had a record high number of graduates and an economic impact of over $181 million.
Miami Dade College is a public college in Miami, Florida. Founded in 1959, it has a total of eight campuses and twenty-one outreach centers throughout Miami-Dade County. It is the largest college in the Florida College System with more than 100,000 students. The college enrolls a significantly larger number of Hispanic students compared to other colleges and universities in the state of Florida. The college serves a higher number of minority students than any other college in the nation.

Degrees awarded by WGU are accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU). The university was founded by 19 U.S. governors in 1997 after the idea was formulated at a 1995 meeting of the Western Governors Association to expand education offerings to the internet.

New Mexico Highlands University (NMHU) is a public university in Las Vegas, New Mexico. Founded in 1893, it has satellite campuses in Santa Fe, Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Farmington and Roswell. Laramie County Community College (LCCC) is a public community college in Cheyenne, Wyoming, in Laramie County, Wyoming, with an additional outreach campus in Laramie, in Albany County. The college also houses an outreach center in Pine Bluffs. In fall 2022, it enrolled 5,389 students, including 1,373 full-time students.

Roxbury Community College (RCC) is a public community college in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. RCC offers associate degrees in arts, and sciences, as well as certificates. San Joaquin Valley College (SJVC) is a private for-profit college with locations in California and an online division. SJVC was founded in 1977 by Robert and Shirley Perry. Crafton Hills College (CHC) is a public community college in Yucaipa, California. CHC is part of the California Community College system. It offers associate degrees and career and technical certificates. Since its opening in 1972, more than 200,000 people have attended Crafton Hills and the college now serves approximately 6,500 students each semester with day, evening, and online classes.
