Ginn Academy was designed for boys requiring additional help in academics and services, and it was scheduled to have a school day longer than that of most district high schools. The school, in its opening year, had 100 slots for first year students (freshmen) and 50 second year students (sophomores). As of December 2007, 80 students had applied.[6]
The dress code requires students to wear suits and ties, different from the normal Cleveland school district dress code guidelines.[6]

Collinwood is a historical area in the northeast part of Cleveland, Ohio. Originally a village in Euclid Township, it was annexed by the city in 1910. Mentor High School is a public high school located in Mentor, Ohio, United States. It is the only high school in the Mentor Exempted Village School District. At one time, it was the largest high school in Ohio based on single building enrollment. For the 2008–2009 school year, it shifted from a three-year school to a four-year high school, serving approximately 2,700 students. Mentor High School educates students from Mentor, Mentor-on-the-Lake, and parts of Kirtland Hills and Concord Township in Lake County, Ohio. Both middle schools from the Mentor Exempted Village School district, Memorial Middle School, Shore Middle School, feed into Mentor High School. Theodore Ginn Sr. is the coach of the Glenville High School Tarblooders football and track teams in Cleveland, Ohio. He is the father of wide receiver Ted Ginn Jr. In addition, he has two other children, Tiffany Ginn and Jason Lucas from Akron, Ohio. In 2001, Ginn, who started out working in the Cleveland Public School District as security guard at Glenville High, coached the U.S. Army All-American Bowl and in 2006 when he was the head coach. He also started the Ted Ginn Sr. Foundation Annual Combat Bus Tour, where he takes inner city high school football players around the country to all major college combines. In 2007, he helped establish Ginn Academy, an all-boys high school for at-risk Cleveland students.

SuccessTech Academy offers a technology infused high school curriculum with a focus on problem and project based learning.
