Gino Guyer (born October 14, 1983, in Coleraine, Minnesota) is an American professional ice hockey centre.
Guyer was drafted 165th overall by the Dallas Stars in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. To date, he has yet to play in the National Hockey League.
After a standout career at Greenway High School, in which he was awarded the 2002 Minnesota Mr. Hockey award as the state's most outstanding high school player, Guyer was recruited by the University of Minnesota. He supplemented his development by playing a total of 20 games with the Lincoln Stars of the USHL, tallying a total of 9 goals and 12 assists in two seasons of play. [2]
In 2003, as a freshman with the Gophers, Guyer scored 29 points; the most notable of which forced overtime in the NCAA National Semifinal against the University of Michigan. Ultimately, the Gophers would advance to the Division I National Championship, defeating the University of New Hampshire 5–1 in regulation, earning the program's 5th NCAA title.
Guyer would go on to captain the Golden Gophers in his senior year (2006). Though Guyer would tally only 14 points through 41 games, Minnesota went on to win the MacNaughton Cup, for their first outright WCHA title since 1992.
In 2006, he had a brief spell in the AHL team Philadelphia Phantoms, as well as in the ECHL teams Texas Wildcatters and Alaska Aces.
He then played two seasons for the Phoenix RoadRunners, and a single season for Bakersfield Condors.

Neal LaMoy Broten is an American former professional ice hockey player. A member of the 1980 US Olympic hockey team that won the gold medal at Lake Placid in 1980, Broten was inducted into the US Hockey Hall of Fame in 2000 having appeared in 1,099 National Hockey League (NHL) regular season games from 1981 to 1997 with the Minnesota North Stars, Dallas Stars, New Jersey Devils and Los Angeles Kings. He is the older brother of Aaron and Paul Broten.

Keith Galen Ballard is an American former professional ice hockey defenseman who previously played in the National Hockey League with the Phoenix Coyotes, Florida Panthers, Vancouver Canucks and Minnesota Wild. Thomas Patrick Chorske is an American former professional ice hockey player. A forward, he played for eleven seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL). In September, 2006, he was named color commentator for New Jersey Devils radio broadcasts, a position he only held for one season before resigning. He was replaced with former team color commentator Sherry Ross. Chorske returned to Minnesota and now works in business and is hockey analyst for Fox Sports North covering The NHL Minnesota Wild and University of Minnesota Golden Gopher NCAA hockey games.
Blake James Wheeler is an American professional ice hockey player for the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was drafted by the Phoenix Coyotes in the first round, fifth overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. After failing to come to terms on a contract with the Coyotes, he signed with the Boston Bruins as a free agent.

The Minnesota Golden Gophers men's ice hockey team is the college ice hockey team at the Twin Cities campus of the University of Minnesota. They are members of the Big Ten Conference and compete in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I ice hockey. The Golden Gophers have won five NCAA national championships, in 1974, 1976, 1979, 2002 and 2003. The team also shared the 1929 National Intercollegiate Athletic Association championship with Yale. and captured the national Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) championship for amateur hockey in 1940. The Gophers are currently coached by Bob Motzko. Under Don Lucia the Gophers earned a spot in the NCAA tournament in eight seasons during a nine-year time span, including five number 1 seeds and three appearances in the Frozen Four. The team's main rivalries are with the University of Wisconsin and the University of North Dakota, although several other schools claim Minnesota as their archrival. For much of the team's history, there has been a strong emphasis on recruiting native Minnesotan high school and junior hockey players, as opposed to out-of-state, Canadian, or European players. This helped high school ice hockey grow in Minnesota, particularly starting with Hall of Famer John Mariucci, who refused to recruit players from Canada. Minnesota high school ice hockey programs grew from 26 in 1945 to over 150 in 1980. Head coach Doug Woog championed home-grown talent even more, only recruiting Minnesota players in the late 1980s and 1990s, but recent rosters have been more diversified.
Don Lucia is an American former ice hockey head coach, who was named as inaugural commissioner of the second Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) on June 17, 2020. The CCHA, which is set to start play in the 2021–22 season, is a revival of an NCAA Division I men's hockey conference whose original version operated from 1971 to 2013 before folding in the wake of massive conference realignment in the sport.
