Gladys Alicia Mora Romero (born July 31, 1980, in Barranquilla) is a Colombian taekwondo practitioner. [1] She is a two-time Olympian, and a four-time medalist at the Pan American Taekwondo Championships. [2] She also won a bronze medal for the 51 kg class at the 2006 Central American and Caribbean Games in Cartagena, Colombia. [3]
Mora made her official debut for the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, where she competed in the women's flyweight category (49 kg). She first defeated Indonesia's Juana Wangsa Putri by a superiority decision in the preliminary rounds, before losing out her next match to Chinese Taipei's Chen Shih-Hsin, with a sudden death score of 0–1. Because her opponent advanced further into the final match, Mora took advantage of the repechage rounds by defeating Nepal's Sangina Baidya and Guatemala's Euda Carías. She progressed to the bronze medal match, but narrowly lost the medal to Thailand's Yaowapa Boorapolchai, with a score of 1–2. [4] [5] [6]
At the 2008 Summer Olympics, Mora qualified for the second time in the women's 49 kg class, after winning the championship title from the Pan American Qualification Tournament in Cali, Colombia. [7] Unfortunately, she lost the first preliminary round match to another Chinese Taipei taekwondo practitioner Yang Shu-Chun, with a score of 0–(-1). [8] [9]
Yaowapa Boorapolchai is a Thai taekwondo athlete who was the bronze medalist in the women's under 49 kg event at the 2004 Summer Olympics. She graduated Bachelor of Arts historical major from Thammasat University.

Ocasio qualified for the women's 67 kg class at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, after placing third from the Pan American Qualification Tournament in Cali, Colombia. She defeated Greece's Elisavet Mystakidou and Germany's Helena Fromm in the first two rounds, before losing out the semi-final match by a unanimous decision to Canada's Karine Sergerie, with a score of 0–2. Ocasio automatically qualified for the bronze medal bout, where she narrowly lost Puerto Rico's first ever medal at these Olympic games by Croatia's Sandra Šarić, with a final score of 1–5.
Doris Esmid Patiño Marín is a Colombian taekwondo practitioner. She won a silver medal for the 57 kg class at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico, losing out to Mexico's Irma Contreras. She later followed that up with a bronze medal four years later at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada.
Trần Thị Ngọc Trúc is a Vietnamese taekwondo practitioner. She won a gold medal for the women's flyweight division at the 2006 World Youth Taekwondo Championships, coincidentally in her home city.
Manuela Bezzola is a Swiss taekwondo practitioner. She defeated Chinese Taipei's Yang Shu-Chun for the gold medal in the women's 51 kg division at the 2009 Summer Universiade in Belgrade, Serbia. Nevena Lukic is an Austrian taekwondo practitioner, who competed in the women's flyweight category. She picked up a total of eight medals in her career, including a gold from the 2004 European Championships in Lillehammer, Norway, and a bronze from the 2005 World Taekwondo Championships in Madrid, Spain, and represented her nation Austria at the 2004 Summer Olympics. Marcel Wenceslau Ferreira is a Brazilian taekwondo practitioner, who competed in the men's flyweight category. He pocketed both a Pan American and South American titles in his own division, picked up a bronze medal at the 2007 World Taekwondo Championships in Beijing, China, and represented his nation Brazil at the 2004 Summer Olympics. Ferreira is also the elder brother of taekwondo jin Márcio Wenceslau, who later competed in the same category at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.
Maya Arusi is an Israeli taekwondo practitioner, who competed in the women's flyweight category. She claimed two medals in the 51-kg division at the Trelleborg Open, and became the first Israeli athlete in history to compete in taekwondo in the Olympics at the 2004 Summer Olympics. Arusi trained throughout her career for Amos Lod Taekwondo Club, under head coach and master Alexei Orehov.
Juana Wangsa Putri is an Indonesian taekwondo practitioner, who competed in the women's flyweight category. She claimed a silver medal in the 51 kg category at the 2002 Asian Taekwondo Championships in Amman, Jordan, earned bronze medals at two consecutive Asian Games, and represented Indonesia in two editions of the Olympic Games.
Satriyo Rahadhani is an Indonesian taekwondo practitioner, who competed in the men's flyweight category. He claimed a silver medal in the 58-kg division, as a 17-year-old teen, at the 1998 Asian Games in Bangkok, Thailand, and became the first Indonesian male taekwondo fighter to mark an Olympic debut in the sport at the 2004 Summer Olympics.
Sangina Baidya is a retired Nepalese taekwondo practitioner, who competed in the women's flyweight category. She won the Gold medal in the Flyweight−47 kg division at the 1996 Asian Taekwondo Championships in Melbourne,Australia.She retrieved a bronze medal in the 51-kg division at the 2000 Asian Taekwondo Championships in Hong Kong, China, and attained a seventh-place finish at the 2004 Summer Olympics, representing her nation Nepal. Before her sporting career ended in 2009, Baidya trained for Central Dojang Taekwondo Club in her native Kathmandu, under her personal coach Nastu Bahadur Bisural.

Colombia competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Originally scheduled to take place from 24 July to 9 August 2020, the Games were postponed to 23 July to 8 August 2021, because of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was the nation's twentieth appearance at the Summer Olympics, with the exception of Helsinki 1952.
