In Australia, Glendi is an annual weekend long festival that celebrates Greek culture in Australia. It is held in Adelaide during the last weekend of November at Bonython Park since 2013 and is the largest ethnic festival in South Australia. The festival has been taking place for over 30 years. Glendi is the Greek word for "party" or "celebration".
Glendi continues to be the major project of the Lions Club of Adelaide Hellenic. It raises money for a variety of charities and also provides an opportunity for the various local Greek brotherhoods, associations and clubs to raise money for their benefit. Music is performed by local, interstate and international artists. Art pieces and historical artifacts are displayed in the Cultural Marquee. Food from all regions of Greece is available. With an estimated 50,000 people turning out for the festivities every year, it is one of Australia's largest multicultural festivals[ citation needed ] and also one of the largest festivals of its type in the Southern Hemisphere.
For the first time in many years, the Royal Adelaide Showgrounds went under massive redevelopment and construction. To attract more visitors and patrons, the 2009 Glendi was held at the Goyder and Jubilee Pavilions and the outdoor areas surrounding the pavilions at the showgrounds. Since the Italian "Carnevale" festival was held there earlier in the year, it is expected that many other ethnic and cultural festivals will follow suit. Popular Greek artist Yiannis Katevas sang, accompanied by Adelaide 's prestigious Greek Lyceum dance school.

Soundwave was an annual music festival held in major cities around Australia. The festival originated in Perth, Western Australia and began travelling to the other Australian capital cities in 2007. It features a number of international and Australian music acts, from various genres including rock, metal and punk. The festival has been headlined by Deftones, The Offspring, Incubus, Alice in Chains, Bloodhound Gang, Nine Inch Nails, Faith No More, Jimmy Eat World, Jane's Addiction, Soundgarden, Iron Maiden, Queens of the Stone Age, The Smashing Pumpkins, System of a Down, Slipknot, Green Day, Avenged Sevenfold, Linkin Park, Blink-182 and Metallica. The festival was run and promoted by Soundwave Touring, who also run Harvest Festival and promote tours for bands and musicians each year.

Fairfield Showground is a multi-purpose indoor-outdoor venue situated in Prairiewood, New South Wales, Australia. Since in the 1970s, it has been a popular venue for multicultural festivals, horse racing, carnivals, markets and club meets attracting as many as 20,000 people. Situated in western Sydney, the showground has around 10,000 sqm of undercover exhibition space and it is overall 33 hectares in size, with parking spaces for over 600 vehicles.
