Glenn Victor Sutanto (born 7 November 1989) is an Indonesian competition swimmer who competes in the Backstroke, freestyle and butterfly events. He competed in the 2016 Summer Olympics in the 100 metre butterfly category, where he ranked 35 in the heats. [2] [3]

Joseph Isaac Schooling is a Singaporean professional swimmer who specialises in butterfly, freestyle and medley events. He was the gold medalist in the 100m butterfly at the 2016 Olympics, achieving Singapore's first ever Olympic gold medal. His winning time of 50.39s broke multiple records at the National, Southeast Asian, Asian and Olympic levels.

Alexandra Wenk is a German swimmer who competes in the Women's 100 metre butterfly. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, she finished 21st overall in the heats in the Women's 100 metre butterfly and failed to reach the final. At the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, she finished in 21st place in the women's 100 m butterfly and did not qualify for the semifinals. She competed in the women's 200 m medley where she finished 11th in the semifinals and did not qualify for the final. Felix Christiadi Sutanto is a retired Indonesian swimmer, who specialized in individual medley events. He represented Indonesia, along with his twin brother Albert, at the 2000 Summer Olympics, and later received a total of sixteen All-American titles at the NAIA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships, while studying in the United States. Because of his tremendous career in college swimming, Sutanto was named the 2002 and 2003 Most Outstanding Male Swimmer of the Year by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).

Tanzania competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 5 to 21 August 2016. Seven athletes, five men and two women, competed in five events across three sports, but did not win any medals. Hilal Hemed Hilal, however, set a new national record in the men's 50 m freestyle event. Four athletes took part in track and field athletics, all in marathons, while two participated in the swimming tournament's 50 m freestyle category. The flagbearer for the opening ceremony was Andrew Thomas Mlugu, who was Tanzania's first Olympic judoka. His counterpart in the closing ceremony was Alphonce Felix Simbu, who had earned the nation's best finish at the Games by placing fifth in the men's marathon. Prior to these Games, Tanzania had sent athletes to twelve editions of the Summer Olympics.

Abbas Qali is a Kuwaiti swimmer. He competed in the 100 m butterfly event at the Swimming at the 2015 World Aquatics Championships and was eliminated during the heats. He is a member of the University of Alabama swimming and diving team. He competed and scored in the 2015 SEC Championships in Auburn, Alabama.
