The Global Chess League 2024, known for sponsorship reasons as the Tech Mahindra Global Chess League 2024, was the second season of the annual over-the-board rapid chess league organized by FIDE. It was held in London from October 3 to October 14, 2024. [1] [2]

Contents

Triveni Continental Kings, the defending champions, led by Alireza Firouzja, retained their title after beating Anish Giri's PBG Alaskan Knights in the final. Alexandra Kosteniuk was named Player of the Final for winning both her games in the final. [3]

Giri is a five-time Dutch champion and won the Corus Chess B Group in 2010. He has represented the Netherlands at seven Chess Olympiads. He has also won major international tournaments, including the 2012 Reggio Emilia tournament, 2017 Reykjavik Open, 2023 Tata Steel Chess, and shared 1st place in the 2015 London Chess Classic. In 2019 he won clear first at the Third Edition of the Shenzhen Masters.

Prime Volleyball League, also known as RuPay Prime Volleyball League for sponsorship reasons, is a professional men's indoor volleyball league in India. The inaugural season took place in February 2022. The league is an initiative of Baseline Ventures with no involvement from Volleyball Federation of India and a rechristened version of the Pro Volleyball League which was held in February 2019. Sony Pictures Networks India is the official broadcaster of the league. RuPay is the title sponsor of the league and signed the contract for three years.

The 2003 Indian Federation Cup, also known as 2003 Tata Federation Cup due to sponsorship reasons, was the 25th season of the Indian Federation Cup. It was held between 26 July and 9 August 2003. Defending champions Mohun Bagan were eliminated by Mohammedan Sporting in the semi-final, who faced Mahindra United in the final. Mahindra United went on to win their maiden title with Shanmugam Venkatesh scoring the winner for them in the 78th minute. Raphaël Patron Akakpo of Mahindra United finished the tournament as the top-scorer with three goals.

The Global Chess League 2023, known for sponsorship reasons as the Tech Mahindra Global Chess League 2023, was the inaugural season of the annual over-the-board rapid chess league organized by FIDE. It took place in Dubai from June 21 to July 2, 2023. It was a joint venture organized by Tech Mahindra and FIDE.
