Gokulam Gopalan (born 23 July 1944) is an Indian businessman, film producer, actor and distributor from Kerala. He is the owner of Sree Gokulam Group of Companies.

He is best known for producing the 2009 historical drama film Kerala Varma Pazhassi Raja and the 2015 Kollywood action thriller Thoongaa Vanam . Other significant film credits include Naku Penta Naku Taka (2013), Thilothama (2015), Clint (2017) and Kayamkulam Kochunni (2018).

In 2018, he appeared alongside Dileep and Siddharth in Rathish Ambat's Malayalam drama film Kammara Sambhavam . His 2019, releases include Mr. & Ms. Rowdy and Kuttymama .

Biography

He was born at Kurikkilad, a village near Vadakara in the present day Kozhikode district on 23 July 1944, as the son of Chathu and Madhu who belongs to the Ezhava community. and Chairman of Sree Narayana Sahodara Dharmma Vedhi (SNSDV) [3] and the president of Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana Yogam (SNDP Yogam) branch in Chennai. [4]

His son Byju Gopalan was jailed in UAE in 2019 for allegedly forging documents. [5]

Kerala Varma Pazhassi Raja is a 2009 Indian Malayalam-language biographical action film based on the life of Pazhassi Raja, a Hindu king who fought against the British in the 18th century. The film was directed by Hariharan, written by M. T. Vasudevan Nair and produced by Gokulam Gopalan. It stars an ensemble cast consisting of Mammootty, Sarathkumar, Kanika Subramaniam, Manoj K Jayan, Padmapriya, Thilakan, Peter Handley Evans, Harry Key, Linda Arsenio and Jagathi Sreekumar. The music score and soundtrack were created by Ilaiyaraaja, while its sound design is by Resul Pookutty. The political situation of the time is portrayed from an Indian viewpoint in the film, and the locals are treated sympathetically.

T. K. Madhavan Indian social reformer

T. K. Madhavan was an Indian social reformer, journalist and revolutionary who was involved with the Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (SNDP). He came from Kerala and led the struggle against untouchability which was known as Vaikom Satyagraha.
