A.  ^ Although the festival was opened on 26 July 1991 and a press screening of Zrinko Ogresta's film Fragments: Chronicle of a Vanishing was held, the festival board presided by Antun Vrdoljak decided to cancel the festivale, as a sign of protest against violence related to the Ten-Day War in Slovenia and the initial stages of the Croatian War of Independence. Nine films were supposed to be screened in the competition program. [14]
B.  ^ : The awards ceremony was canceled in 1994 as only one Croatian feature film was made in the preceding 12 months (Bogdan Žižić's The Price of Life). The festival was held in spite of this, but the usual competition program was replaced by screenings of the original works of the Zagreb School of Animated Film and documentaries, while the main program featured premieres of six American movies. Pula Film Festival is an annual Croatian film festival, established in 1954. It is held in a Roman amphitheater known as the Pula Arena. Pula Film Festival is the oldest Croatian film festival and is usually held in the summer, in July or August.

The Golden Arena awards were established in 1955 as the Yugoslav national film awards presented annually at the Pula Film Festival in Pula, Croatia, with the Big Golden Arena for Best Film its main prize. From 1955 to 1990 the awards were the Yugoslav cinema equivalent of the Academy Awards.

The Golden Arena for Best Director(Croatian: Zlatna arena za režiju) is an award given for best director at the Pula Film Festival, which was until 1992 the Yugoslav equivalent of the Academy Awards. Since 1992 and the breakup of Yugoslavia the competition narrowed to Croatian films only. The first festival was held in 1954, but the award was introduced in 1955.

Filip Robar Dorin was a Slovenian film director, screenwriter, and film editor.

The Glembays is a 1988 Yugoslav film directed by Antun Vrdoljak starring Mustafa Nadarević and Ena Begović. The film is an adaptation of Miroslav Krleža's 1929 play Messrs. Glembay and was produced by Televizija Zagreb and Jadran Film.

The Three Men of Melita Žganjer is a 1998 award-winning Croatian film directed by Snježana Tribuson, who also wrote the screenplay for the film.

Bogdan Žižić was a Croatian film director and screenwriter. Žižić was regarded as one of the most prolific Croatian directors of short documentary films, and was also known for several critically acclaimed feature films made in the 1970s.

Erased is a 2018 Slovenian drama film written and directed by Miha Mazzini based on his own novel of the same name. World premiere was at Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival 2018, 25. November 2018, while Slovenian one was on 25. February 2019.
