Asian Games Multi-sport event

The Asian Games, also known as Asiad, is a continental multi-sport event held every four years among athletes from all over Asia. The Games were regulated by the Asian Games Federation (AGF) from the first Games in New Delhi, India, until the 1978 Games. Since the 1982 Games, they have been organized by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), after the breakup of the Asian Games Federation. The Games are recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and are described as the second largest multi-sport event after the Olympic Games.

1982 Asian Games Ninth edition of the asian games

The 9th Asian Games were held from 19 November to 4 December 1982, in Delhi, India. 74 Asian and Asian Games records were broken at the event. This was also the first Asiad to be held under the aegis of the Olympic Council of Asia. Delhi joined Bangkok, Jakarta, and Doha as the cities to host multiple editions of the Asian Games up to this point.

1990 Asian Games 11th edition of the Asian Games

The 1990 Asian Games also known as the XI Asiad and the 11th Asian Games, were held from September 22 to October 7, 1990, in Beijing, China. This was the first Asian Games held in China.

1994 Asian Games 12th edition of the Asian Games

The 1994 Asian Games, also known as the XII Asiad and the 12th Asian Games, were held from October 2 to 16, 1994, in Hiroshima, Japan. The main theme of this edition was to promote peace and harmony among Asian nations. It was emphasized by the host because the venue was the site of the first atomic bomb attack 49 years earlier. Due to the 1991 Gulf War, Iraq was suspended from the games. The games debuted former republics of the Soviet Union: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

1998 Asian Games 13th edition of the Asian Games

The 1998 Asian Games, officially known as the 13th Asian Games and the XIII Asiad, was an Asian multi-sport event celebrated in Bangkok, Thailand from December 6 to 20, 1998, with 377 events in 36 sports and disciplines participated by 6,554 athletes across the continent. The football event commenced on 30 November 1998, a week earlier than the opening ceremony.

Golf was contested at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, Qatar. Men's and women's individual and team events were played at the Doha Golf Club over four rounds from 8 to 11 December. The men played at 7181 yards with a par 72. The Ladies played at 5751 yards with a par 73.

Ye Zhaoying is a retired badminton player from Hangzhou, China. Officially ranked as the number one women's singles player in the world for the first time in December 1995, she lost and regained that ranking several times during her career. Her best years as a player overlapped those of the slightly older Susi Susanti and Bang Soo-hyun, in what some see as a "golden" era in women's badminton.

Sport in Taiwan

Badminton was contested at the 1994 Asian Games in Tsuru Memorial Gymnasium, Hiroshima, Japan from October 7 to October 15, 1994.

2013 Asian Youth Games

The 2013 Asian Youth Games or AYG 2013, officially the 2nd Asian Youth Games and commonly as Nanjing 2013, were held in Nanjing, China from August 16–24, 2013. Just like the inaugural edition, the games served as a dress-rehearsal for the upcoming 2014 Summer Youth Olympics, which was also held in the same city.

Diving was contested at the 1994 Asian Games in Hiroshima, Japan, from October 3 to October 6, 1994.

Wushu was contested by both men and women at the 1994 Asian Games in Aki Ward Sports Center, Hiroshima, Japan from October 12 to October 14, 1994. It was competed in the disciplines of Taolu with six events, Taijiquan, Nanquan and Changquan for both genders. Changquan event consisted of Changquan, one long weapon discipline and one short weapon discipline.

Archery was contested from October 6 to October 10 at the 1994 Asian Games in Senogawa Park, Hiroshima, Japan. The competition included only recurve events.

Golf at the 2014 Asian Games was held in Incheon, South Korea from 25 to 28 September 2014. Four competitions were held in both, men and women's.

Golf at the 2018 Asian Games was held at Pondok Indah Golf Course, Jakarta, Indonesia, from 23 to 26 August 2018 and featured four events: the men's individual and team events and women's individual and team events.

Yuka Saso Filipino golfer

Yuka Saso is a Philippine-born Japanese professional golfer. She competed for the Philippines through 2021, having won the first ever gold medal for the Philippines in both women's individual and women's team event in Asian Games golf competitions. As of 2022, she is representing Japan.

Hsieh Chin-sheng is a Taiwanese professional golfer. He won twice on the 1988 Asia Golf Circuit, the Hong Kong Open and the Philippine Open.
