Gollan Addison was born on 29 September 1877 in Adelaide,Australia and died on 12 October 1935 in Double Bay,New South Wales. He was an Australian cricketer. He played one first-class match for Tasmania in 1903. [1]
Addison was born in Adelaide at the end of September 1877 to parents John Gollan Addison and Marion (nee Johnston). He was educated at Glenelg Grammar School and Prince Alfred College. [2] [3]
Gollan moved to Tasmania at the start of the 20th Century in time to participate in the 1901-02 season [4] and began his local cricket career with Derwent club. He soon displayed his all-round batting and pace bowling skills by scoring 62 and taking 3 wickets for 53 runs. [5] After just a few weeks in Hobart,Addison moved to northern Tasmania and joined the Launceston Cricket Club. [6]
Good performances in the northern grade competition quickly led to Addison being chosen to represent the North in the regular intrastate matches versus the South. And he didn't let the selectors down - scoring 59 in the second innings,and taking 5 wickets for 58 runs. [7] In the 1902-03 representative match,Addison again performed well for the North,playing another significant knock in the second innings and taking 3 wickets for 29 runs. [8]
Gollan Addison was chosen in January 1904 to play at Launceston for Tasmania against the visiting MCC team. [9] In the only first-class match of his career Addison was quite unsuccessful. He was bowled for 0 by Ted Arnold,and his ten overs were expensive,costing 64 runs. He did take the wicket of A E Knight and was the fielder involved in the run out of Wilfred Rhodes.
Addison married Marie Sybil Murphy at Westbury in October 1904. [10] They were divorced in mid-1923 [11] He married his second wife Mary Eveleyn Roberts in 1925 [12]
He spent much of his adult life as an official of the National Bank of Australasia,moving between a number of various branches around the country. [13] Addison died in October 1935,still on staff at the bank. [14]

Eric Lisle James was an Australian cricketer who played a single first-class match for Tasmania. Born in Low Head,Tasmania,James's only recorded matches came during the 1903–04 season. In December 1903,he played for "North" in the first of two "North v South" matches for the season,held at the NTCA Ground in Launceston. He also played in the return fixture,held in April 1904 at the TCA Ground in Hobart. James's only match at state level came against the touring Marylebone Cricket Club in January 1904,as part of the English team's 1903–04 tour of Australia. In the match,played in Launceston,he scored four runs in his only innings before being bowled by George Hirst,and failed to take a wicket whilst bowling. James died in Malvern,Victoria,in August 1948.
