Mokum Records is a Dutch independent record label specialising in early hardcore and hardcore releases. They have released about 100 single and EP vinyl records between 1993 and 1999 and more than 80 since 2004.
Hank Mizell was an American singer, guitarist and songwriter. He is best-remembered for his rockabilly single "Jungle Rock" (1958), which was obscure on its original release but reached number 3 in the UK Singles Chart in 1976. In the Netherlands, it made it to number 1.
Greater Than One is an English electronic music band, founded by husband and wife Michael Wells and Lee Newman in 1985. They released many albums under this name, and also under the names Tricky Disco, GTO, John + Julie, Church of Extacy, Signs of Chaos, T.D.5, Salami Brothers, Killout Squad, Technohead and L.E.D.. Only a few of their singles were commercially successful. Since Newman's death on 4 August 1995 from cancer, Wells continues to release music under some of these names, and also as The Man and S.O.L.O.
Party Animals are a pop-gabber group from Amsterdam, Netherlands. The band was created by producers Jeff "Abraxas" Porter and Jeroen Flamman, also known as Flamman & Abraxas, along with vocalists MCs Remsy, Evert van Buschbach, Patrick de Moor, Dennis Adam, and Paul Grommé. They became the first act in the Netherlands to have their first three singles go straight to number one.
The Dutch Top 40 is a weekly music chart compiled by Stichting Nederlandse Top 40. It started as a radio program titled "Veronica Top 40", on the offshore station Radio Veronica in 1965. It remained "The Veronica Top 40" until 1974, when the station was forced to stop broadcasting. Joost den Draaijer was the initiator of the Top 40 in the Netherlands. The show is currently aired on Friday from 2 till 6 PM on Qmusic.
"Reet Petite " is a song written by Berry Gordy, Billy Davis, and Gwen Gordy Fuqua, and made popular by Jackie Wilson. It was his first solo hit after leaving the Dominoes and, over the years, has become one of his biggest international chart successes.
"Have You Ever Been Mellow" is the first single of the Party Animals and was released on their debut album Good Vibrations. The track was released in 1996 and became their first number one hit in The Netherlands. The song contains a sample of "Have You Never Been Mellow" by Olivia Newton-John. The refrain was also reused except that "never" was replaced by "ever". Musically the song is totally different with a fast gabber beat. The song made the 1996 yearlist at a #21 position. The single was certified Gold. The song remains an often requested song in the Netherlands and reached the 35 position at 3FM's 90s Request Top 100 of 2006. It was a minor hit in the United Kingdom but, like other songs in its genre, sold better in Scotland.

"I Wanna Be a Hippy" is a song by English electronic group Technohead. The vocals were taken from David Peel's song "I Like Marijuana", which he sung in the movie Rude Awakening. It first appeared as the B-side to the group's Mary Jane EP, issued by Dutch hardcore techno label Mokum Records. John Peel featured the track "Mary Jane" on his show on 10 February 1995, which helped give the release recognition.
Hans van Hemert is a Dutch ASCAP award-winning record producer and songwriter. Mouth & MacNeal and Luv' are among the pop acts he produced. He also composed three songs for the Eurovision Song Contest.

"One More Little Kissie" is the eleventh single by the Dutch girl group Luv', released in May 1980 by CNR/Carrere Records. This song appears on the 1980 reissue of the True Luv' album and the Forever Yours LP. It was the last single featuring Patty Brard who left Luv' a couple of months after its release.
My Number One is the twelfth single by the Dutch girl group Luv', released in the autumn of 1980 by CNR/Carrere Records. The song appears on the Forever Yours album and was a chart success in Benelux and a minor hit in Germany. "My Number One" served as the official introduction to the public and the media of Luv's new member, Ria Thielsch.
Headsex is the first album by Technohead, a pseudonym of the duo Greater Than One, released in 1995. It is the album from which the single "I Wanna Be a Hippy" was taken, which peaked at number six in the UK Singles Chart in February 1996. The song quotes several lines from artist/activist David Peel's song "I Like Marijuana"
"Shame, Shame, Shame" is a 1974 hit song written by Sylvia Robinson, performed by American disco band Shirley & Company and released on the Vibration label. The lead singer is Shirley Goodman, who was one half of Shirley and Lee, who had enjoyed a major hit 18 years earlier, in 1956, with the song "Let The Good Times Roll" for Aladdin Records. The male vocalist is Jesus Alvarez. The saxophone solo is by Seldon Powell, whose instrumental version, "More Shame", is the B-side.
"Tinseltown in the Rain" is a song by Scottish pop band The Blue Nile. It was released as the second single from their 1984 debut album A Walk Across the Rooftops. The song was written and produced by lead singer Paul Buchanan and bassist Robert Bell. It has been described as an "ode to the city" of Glasgow.
"Miss Hit and Run" is a song written by Lynsey de Paul and Barry Blue. Blue released the single in 1974 as a follow up single to "School Love" on Bell Records in the UK, Germany, Italy and Spain and on the Barclay label in France and recorded it with a "Beach Boys" type of arrangement. The single sided acetate label of the single reveals that the original title was "Little Miss Hit and Run", confirming what was reported in the music press at the time. The song was Blue's fourth consecutive hit, reaching number 26 on the UK Singles Chart in August 1974. It also reached number 9 on Capitol Radio's "Capitol Countdown" chart, and spent three weeks on the Dutch Tipparade. It was also a track on the K-Tel album, Music Explosion and the Polydor LP "20 Super Power Hits".
Make 'Em Mokum Crazy is a compilation album of music by various artists released in 1996 by Dutch record label Mokum Records. The album, which consists solely of music from the label's catalogue, displays the happy gabba or "popcore" sound that had emerged from Dutch underground raves during the mid-1990s and had partly started to reach mainstream success, such was the case with the album's lead single "I Wanna Be a Hippy" by Technohead. Upon its release, the album received critical acclaim for its upbeat, manic tone and happy spirit. Robert Christgau named it the 53rd best album of 1997, and, as an example of its acclaim had continued over years, Rolling Stone named it the 30th greatest EDM album ever in 2012.
New Hits 96 is a compilation album released in 1996. As a part of the Hits compilation series, it contains UK hit singles from the winter and early spring months of 1996. The album reached number 1 on the UK compilations chart and stayed there for nine weeks.
