Gora Ho

Gora Ho is an Indian archer based in Balijhudi village, Rajnagar. [1] He is also known as the Golden Boy. [2] [3]

Early life

Gora, youngest son of Khaireu Ho comes from a poor family of farmers. He lost his mother Chameni in 2016 and was since looked after by his three elder brothers. He began his training at Arjuna Archery Academy and was later moved to Dugni Archery Academy in Seraikela by B Srinivas Rao. [1] [4]

Career

In 2014, at the age of 13, he earned recognition after receiving three gold medals at National School Games in Ranchi and in 2015 he won 10 more medals at Jharkhand Archery Championship. [1]

In 2018, Gora partnered with Akash and Gaurav Lambe and defeated Mongolia to win the gold medal at Asia Cup Stage 1 Archery Meet 2018 in Bangkok. [5] [6]

Awards

In 2015, he received the National Child Award by Pranab Mukherjee. He was awarded with a special bow which costed INR 2.7 lakhs, by the government in 2017. He has won more than 100 medals in sub-junior and junior events in state and national levels. [1] [7]

On 15 August 2015, he won a gold medal in the compound men's individual section at the Archery World Cup Stage 3 in Wroclaw, Poland. On 25 October 2015, he won the silver medal in the compound men's individual section at the Archery World Cup Final in Mexico city.

Atanu Das represents India in the recurve men's individual and team events. His current world ranking is 9 as of 22 July 2021. He is the spouse of World No. 1 Indian archer Deepika Kumari.

Nisha Rani Dutta is an Indian archer.

Muskan Kirar is an Indian archer. She won the gold medal in the women's compound final event at the Archery Asia Cup, stage-1 competition in Bangkok on 7 March 2018. She beat Malaysian archer Sazatul Nadhirah Zakaria by 139-136. Muskan was trained by Richpal Singh Salaria at the Madhya Pradesh Archery Academy in Bhopal.

Rishabh Yadav is a compound archer from India. At the 2021 World Archery Youth Championships at Wrocław, Poland, he won the bronze medal in the men's compound archery event. On 17 November 2021, he won the bronze medal in the men's compound archery team event along with Abhishek Verma and Aman Saini and a silver medal in the mixed team event with Jyothi Surekha Vennam at the 22nd Asian Archery Championship in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
