The GMA T.33 or Gordon Murray Automotive Type 33 is a sports car manufactured by Gordon Murray Automotive. Designed by Gordon Murray, the T.33 is the manufacturer's second model after the T.50 supercar.

Design

The design of the GMA T.33 is claimed to be inspired by grand tourers of the 1960s, [1] such as the Ferrari Dino and Lamborghini Miura. Murray utilized a 2-seater coupé configuration for the T.33, with the body built entirely in carbon fibre and mounted on a carbon fibre-and-aluminium frame. The T.33 has a luggage capacity of 280 litres (74 US gal), divided between a front trunk and two compartments ahead of the rear wheels. [2]

The T.33 is powered by the same Cosworth V12 engine as the T.50, with 3.99 L (243 cu in) of displacement and four valves per cylinder. In the T.33, it is capable of 615 PS (452 kW) at 10,500 rpm and 451 N⋅m (333 lb⋅ft) of torque at 9,500 rpm. [3] Power is sent to the rear wheels via a standard 6-speed Xtrac manual transmission. [4]

Production

GMA plans to build 100 customer cars at its Surrey production site. Each car costs 1.37 million GBP before local taxes. [5] [6]

The GMA is a 4.0-litre, naturally-aspirated V12 engine, commissioned by Gordon Murray, and developed and produced by Cosworth for the Gordon Murray Automotive T.50 & Gordon Murray Automotive T.33 sports cars. The road-going engine is rated at 663 PS at 11,500 rpm, with a max torque figure of 467 N⋅m (344 lbf⋅ft) at 9,000 rpm, making it the highest revving road car engine ever produced. The engine is also more powerful than the 6.1 L (6,064 cc) S70/2 V12 engine used in the McLaren F1, making more power from four litres than the S70/2 engine made from 6.1 litres.

Gordon Murray Automotive is a British automobile manufacturer of sports cars based in Shalford, Surrey, England, which was founded in 2017 by former Formula 1 designer Gordon Murray. The company's initial focus is on limited-run supercars. Its T.50 car entered production in 2023.
