Government Model Higher Secondary School, Varkala (short names: GMHSS Varkala, GMHSSV) (HSE [1] Code: 01028) is a Higher Secondary School in Varkala (Thiruvananthapuram district) of the Indian state of Kerala. Varkala is a major commercial, tourism region and headquarters of Varkala Taluk and Municipality of Thiruvananthapuram district situated in the Indian state of Kerala. It is the northern suburb of Trivandrum City. In 2019 Varkala Beach in the city selected as the second most stunning cliff beach in the world. It is located 36 kilometres north of Trivandrum (Thiruvananthapuram) which is the capital and largest metropolitan city of Kerala, 15 km north - west of Attingal town and 28 km south of Kollam City. Thiruvananthapuram, commonly known by its former name Trivandrum, is the capital of the Indian state of Kerala. It is the most populous city in Kerala with a population of 957,730 as of 2011.
