Government Polytechnic, Pune is an autonomous institute in Pune, Maharashtra, India. It gained academic autonomy in May 1994. [1]

History

This institute was created by Board of Technical Education, Maharashtra State, India. Government of Maharashtra granted initial funding and started 3 years Diploma in Engineering courses. Initial years the Institute did not have its own building and class rooms. They used College of Engineering, Pune premises to conduct classes. Later in the early 1960s they acquired land from Shirole (Patil) family and constructed current building.

The Institute also owns its own boat club next to College of Engineering, Pune. They have fleet of many boats for students to practice and participate in annual race called Regatta. Many past students have enjoyed this rare opportunity to go on boat rides in the junction of two rivers "Mula" and "Mutha".

College Of Engineering Pune (COEP) Technological University is a unitary public university of the Government of Maharashtra, situated in Pune, Maharashtra, India. Established in 1854, it is the 3rd oldest engineering institute in India, after College of Engineering, Guindy (1794) and IIT Roorkee (1847). The students and alumni are colloquially referred to as COEPians. On 23 June 2022, Government of Maharashtra issued a notification regarding conversion of the college into an independent technological university. On 24 March 2022, both the houses of the state government passed the CoEP Technological University bill, which has conferred a unitary state university status on the institute.

Baramati ([baːɾamət̪iː]) is a city, a tehsil and a municipal council in Pune district in the state of Maharashtra, India. The city is about 100 km southeast of the city of Pune and about 250 km from Mumbai.

The institute is approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, and the Government of Maharashtra, permanently affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University, and has recognition under section 2(F) and 12(B) of. The institute is adjudged as Grade 'A' by the Government of Maharashtra. The institute is Accredited by the National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an ‘A’ Grade and accredited by HLACT International. It is the only institute in Nashik to be grouped thrice under the “Platinum Category” by the AICTE-CII Survey of Industry Linked Institutes and according to the NIRF ranking survey 2016 ranked 85th amongst all engineering institutes in India. The Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff of the institute is a blend of senior experienced and young dynamic faculty members devoted to the noble cause of education. Many of our students were the toppers in the university examinations and are in great demand from Multinational Companies in India and Abroad. Our training and placement wing tries hard to seek good jobs for our students. Government College of Engineering and Research, Avasari Khurd (GCOEARA) is a Maharashtra state government engineering college. It was established in 2009. The college is located about 62 km north of Pune, on Nashik-Pune National Highway (NH-60) and 70 km from the shrine Bhimashankar. The campus is spread over 50 acres with academic buildings and separate administrative and workshop buildings, a separate residential zone with quarters for faculty and staff and hostels. The college is approved by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi, and is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University. Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra state, Mumbai controls the institute through its regional office at Pune.

The Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE) is an autonomous board of education in the state of Maharashtra, India. It designs and implements diploma, post diploma and advanced diploma programs to affiliated institutions. The board was established in 1963 to cater the increasing needs of affiliated institutions and their students.

Nalanda Foundation Polytechnic in Hubli, Karnataka was founded in 1992. It started in a temporary building in Hubli and moved to a permanent building on Gadag Road in 2004. It offers four Diploma Engineering courses. It is affiliated to the Department of Technical Education Bangalore, and is recognised by the Government of Karnataka. Nalanda Foundation Polytechnic has been approved by the All India Council for Technical Education New Delhi.
