The governor of the County of Machakos is the chief executive of the Kenya Devolved Government of Machakos County. The governor is the head of the executive branch of County government of Machakos.

The current governor is Alfred Mutua, [2] of Maendeleo Chap Chap. Dr. Alfred Mutua is on his final term as governor of the County.

Dr Mwiria Valerian Kilemi is a Kenyan politician and scholar. He belongs to the Maendelo Chap Chap party headed by Machakos Governor Alfred Mutus and was elected to represent the Tigania West Constituency in the National Assembly of Kenya in the 2007 Kenyan parliamentary election. In 2012, he contested and lost the Meru County gubernatorial seat to Peter Munya, in a disputed election that was unsuccessfully challenged in court. At the moment, he is the presidential advisor on education. His most notable achievements has been the chairing of the task force mandated to review the secondary school fees structure. This has been lauded by the parents and the general public at large.

Johnson Nduya Muthama is a Kenyan businessman and politician. He is currently the chairman of the new party UDA affiliated with the deputy president of Kenya William Ruto. He has since officially resigned from the Wiper party & NASA coalition and now campaigning to popularize his UDA party best known as hustler movement ideals. He was drawn to the Deputy President's agenda of the bottom up economic structure to support the common mwananchi.

Tom Mboya Monument

The Tom Mboya Monument is along Moi Avenue in Nairobi, Kenya. It was erected in 2011 in honour of Tom Mboya, a Kenyan government minister who was assassinated in 1969. The monument stands about twenty meters from where Mboya was murdered.

Local elections were held in Machakos County to elect a Governor and County Assembly on 4 March 2013. Under the new constitution, which was passed in a 2010 referendum, the 2013 general elections were the first in which Governors and members of the County Assemblies for the newly created counties were elected. They will also be the first general elections run by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission(IEBC) which has released the official list of candidates.

Alfred Nganga Mutua is a Kenyan politician who is the governor of Machakos County. Mutua was the Kenya government spokesman before resigning in 2012 to run for the office of Machakos County Governor.

The 2014 Kenyan Premier League was the eleventh season of the Kenyan Premier League since it began in 2003. It was also the 51st season of top division football in Kenya since 1963. Gor Mahia won the league title for the second consecutive season, earning a place in the preliminary round of the 2015 CAF Champions League while 2014 FKF President's Cup champions Sofapaka represented Kenya in the preliminary round of the 2014 CAF Confederation Cup. The two teams faced each other at the 2015 Kenyan Super Cup.

Wavinya Ndeti Former Assistant Minister of Kenya

Wavinya Ndeti is a Kenyan professional and a business woman who is currently the Chief Administrative Secretary in the Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure, Housing, Urban Development and Public Works and she was chairperson of the governing council of the Kenya Water Institute since 7 February 2019. She previously served as a Member of Parliament for the Kathiani Constituency in the 10th Kenyan parliament and an assistance minister in the ministry of youth affairs and sport from 2008 to 2013. She was the first woman to be elected as a member of parliament in Machakos county since independence. She was a CCU candidate in 2013 and WDM-K candidate in 2017 for Machakos Governor.

2017 Machakos County gubernatorial election

The 2017 Machakos gubernatorial election took place on 8 August 2017 to elect the governor and deputy governor of Machakos, concurrently with Machakos Senator to the Senate as other Counties and Machakos MPs to the Kenya National Assembly and Elections of County Assembly MCAs.

Machakos County Assembly

A Machakos County Assembly is the forum through which the people of Machakos participate in the making of laws, formulation of policies for taxation, budgeting, and the establishment of the Machakos County public service.

The Machakos County Governor is the chief executive of the Machakos and the various agencies and departments over which the officer has jurisdiction, as prescribed in the Republic of Kenya Constitution 2010. It is a directly elected position, votes being cast by popular suffrage of residents of Machakos County. The governor is responsible for enacting laws passed by the Machakos County Assembly.

The Maendeleo Chap Chap Party (MCC) is a political party in Kenya.

Nimrod Mbithuka Mbai is a Kenyan politician and the current Member of Parliament for Kitui East Constituency. He was elected on a Jubilee Party ticket in the August 8th elections. He won after garnering a total of 14, 256 votes against 10, 899 votes garnered by NARC's Militonic Mwendwa Kitute. The then incumbent Member of Parliament, Major (Rtd) Mutua Muluvi was fourth with 5, 436 votes. He is an ex-police officer and served as security aide to the late Francis Nyenze and later to the current Machakos County Governor Alfred Mutua. Governor Mutua appointed him to his government in 2013 after Mbai resigned from his police service. Mbai caused controversy for his rape remarks against Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu because of the governor's support for poll boycott called by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga. He later apologised following public outcry and pressure from women's rights group FIDA Kenya

Deputy Governor of Machakos

The Deputy Governor of Machakos County is a constitutional office in the executive branch of the Government of Machakos County, Kenya. It is the second highest-ranking official in County government. The Deputy Governor is elected on a ticket with the Governor for a five-year term. Official duties dictated to the Deputy Governor under the present Constitution of Kenya 2010 are to serve as Principal Deputy to the Governor of Machakos, serve as Acting Governor in the absence of the Governor from the County or the disability of the Governor, or to become Governor in the event of the Governor's death, resignation or removal from office via impeachment.

James Ongwae, formally known as James Elvis Omariba Ongwae, is the current Governor of Kisii County government. He is a member of the Orange Democratic Movement and was elected as the first Governor of Kisii County Government on the ODM ticket in March 2013 and is currently serving his second term since August 2017.
