Grand Prix Bern Inter

The Grand Prix Bern Inter, also known as the Grand Prix Bern Inter Curling Challenge, is an annual tournament on the men's World Curling Tour. [1] It is held annually on the last weekend of October or the first weekend of November at the Curlingbahn Allmend Bern in Bern, Switzerland. [2]

Contents

The purse for the event is CHF 18,100, with the winning team receiving CHF 5,500. [2]

The event has been held since 1997, and has been part of the World Curling Tour since 2018.

Although it's a men's event, Andrea Schöpp won the event in 2010.

Oskar Ingemar Eriksson is a Swedish curler from Karlstad. He currently plays third for the Niklas Edin rink. He is the first curler in history to win four Olympic medals – gold, silver, and two bronze – and the first to secure two Olympic medals in different curling disciplines in the same Olympic Games. He is also a seven-time World Men's Curling Champion, seven-time European Men's Curling Champion, and the first curler in history to win three gold medals in major international curling championships in a single calendar year – the World Men's Curling Championship, the European Curling Championship, and the World Mixed Doubles Championship. Having also won two World Mixed Doubles Championship medals, he is the first and the only curler to win eight World Curling Championship gold medals in the senior men's division and has won thirteen World Curling Championship medals overall in that division. He also holds the record for most gold medals in international competitions as recognized by the World Curling Federation. He is the only member of Team Sweden to have competed in all of the World Men's Curling Championships from 2011 to 2024. He won medals in all but two of these championships, as well as playing in multiple positions – as skip, third, second, and as an alternate. In 2022, Eriksson and his teammates also became the first men's team in history to win four consecutive World Men's Curling Championships. In 2024, Eriksson and Niklas Edin became the first and only two curlers in history to have seven career gold World Men's Curling Championship medals.

The DeKalb Superspiel is a curling bonspiel that takes place at the Morris Curling Club in Morris, Manitoba. It was an event on the World Curling Tour until 2019 and the Manitoba Curling Tour, and also takes part in the Canadian Team Ranking System (CTRS). There is a men's and women's event. The event began in 2009 and is annually held usually the third weekend in November but is subject to changes if the WCT or MCA has a conflicting bonspiel.

The 2014 International Bernese Ladies Cup was held from January 10 to 12 at the Curlingbahn Allmend in Bern, Switzerland as part of the 2013–14 World Curling Tour. The event was held in a triple-knockout format, and the purse for the event was CHF 20,500, of which the winner, Eve Muirhead, received CHF 6,000. Muirhead defeated Anna Sidorova of Russia in the final with a score of 6–3.

The Dumfries Challenger Series is an annual bonspiel on the men's World Curling Tour (WCT), held at the Dumfries Ice Bowl in Dumfries, Scotland. It has been part of the WCT since 2014. The event was known as the Dumfries Curling Challenge in 2014 and the LELY Dumfries Challenger Series in 2015.

The 2019–20 curling season began in June 2019 and was scheduled to end in May 2020. However, the coronavirus pandemic declared in March 2020 resulted in the cancellation of events and the premature ending of the season.

Ross Whyte is a Scottish curler from Stirling. Skipping his own team, Whyte has won silver at the 2018 World Junior Curling Championships and won bronze at the 2019 World Junior Curling Championships and 2019 Winter Universiade. As alternate for the Bruce Mouat rink, he won two European championship titles and earned a silver medal in the men's team event of the 2022 Winter Olympics.

The 2020–21 curling season began in August 2020 and ended in May 2021.

The Mixed Doubles Bern is an annual mixed doubles curling tournament on the ISS Mixed Doubles World Curling Tour. It is held annually in the Fall at Curling Bern in Bern, Switzerland.

The Kelowna Double Cash is an annual tournament on the men's and women's World Curling Tour. It is held annually in November at the Kelowna Curling Club in Kelowna, British Columbia. The men's event is sponsored by Raymond James Financial and the women's event by the Sunset Ranch Golf & Country Club.
