The Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation, located in Baltimore, Maryland, is a church of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. Formally established on March 18, 1906, it is the oldest of the 11 Greek Orthodox parishes in the State of Maryland. An overwhelming number of Greeks who immigrated to Baltimore made the decision very early to remain in this country. Many operated businesses at city market houses, became homeowners, and established families. The beginning of the 20th century brought them into an ecclesiastical experience as well. By the spring of 1937, the magnificent edifice on Preston Street became a vital part of their rich history filled with faith, dedication, and perseverance. The Cathedral is an important center of Greek-American culture in Baltimore.

Metropolitan Anthony of San Francisco was the first Metropolitan Bishop of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of San Francisco, a metropolis of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, under the spiritual authority of the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople. His first bishopric was that of the Eighth Archdiocesan District of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese with headquarters in Denver, Colorado. He was subsequently enthroned as Bishop Anthony of San Francisco as the first bishop of the newly formed Greek Orthodox Diocese of San Francisco. He became titular Metropolitan of the Dardanelles, but retained leadership of the diocese. When diocese was elevated to the status of Metropolis of San Francisco, Metropolitan Anthony was named the Greek Orthodox Metropolitan of San Francisco.

The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Canada, formerly known as the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Toronto (Canada), is an archdiocese of the Eastern Orthodox Church based in Canada. It is under the jurisdiction of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople. The present Archbishop and Exarch of All Canada is Sotirios Athanassoulas. Its jurisdiction covers members of the Greek Orthodox community living in Canada. Archbishop Sotirios was born in Arta, Epirus in Greece. The headquarters of the archdiocese is in the East York district of Toronto.
