Green Power is a non-governmental environmental organization based in Hong Kong, established in 1988. The organization promotes environmental education and community engagement, aiming to raise public awareness about environmental issues and encourage sustainable practices.
Green Power's primary mission is to foster environmental consciousness through education. The organization emphasizes the role of learning in fostering long-term behavioral changes and the preservation of the environment. The Green Power Hike is an annual charitable walk-a-thon organized by Green Power. It is the largest event held along the 50-kilometer Hong Kong Trail. First launched in 1994 with around 100 participants, the hike has since attracted over 28,000 participants and raised more than HK$26 million. In 2008, the event saw approximately 3,000 participants and raised over HK$4 million. All funds raised are allocated to support local environmental education programs in kindergartens, primary schools, and secondary schools. [2]
Hong Kong is home to over 260 species of butterflies, and Green Power actively promotes their conservation. Efforts include educational programs and initiatives to protect butterfly habitats. [3]
Victoria Peak is a hill on the western half of Hong Kong Island. It is also known as Mount Austin, and locally as The Peak only generally. With an elevation of 552 metres (1,811 ft), it is the tallest hill on Hong Kong Island, and the 29th tallest in the territory of Hong Kong. It is a major tourist attraction offering views of Central, Victoria Harbour, Lamma Island and the surrounding islands.

Support! International Foundation 國際青年學融有限公司 is a youth-led education non-government organisation in Hong Kong, registered under Section 88 of the Inland Revenue Department Ordinance. It provides educational programmes to both secondary and primary students in need, as well as community development events to all youths in Hong Kong. Since 2014, the Foundation has expanded to 9 educational sites across Hong Kong and 3 event series held year-round, each initiated, led and maintained by secondary school students. The organisation has over a hundred student volunteers and an average annual reach of 1000+. The organisation's stated mission is "to create opportunities and foster connections for individuals from all backgrounds within communities, under the guiding principle and firm belief that young people are tomorrow’s leaders." The current President is 16-year-old Nicholas Gao, from Chinese International School and the current Chairman is Paul Tchen.
The adoption of electric vehicles in Hong Kong is actively supported by the Hong Kong government, which recognizes battery electric vehicles, plug-in hybrids, and conventional hybrid electric vehicles to be environmentally friendly and eligible for financial incentives. As of 31 October 2017, there were 11,039 electric vehicles in Hong Kong, up from less than 100 in 2010. At present, 73 EV models from eight countries have been approved by the Transport Department to be eligible for the incentives. These include 51 models for private cars and motorcycles and 22 models for public transport and commercial vehicles.
Ng Cho-nam, SBS, JP, was a Hong Kong environmental studies scholar and conservationist who taught as an associate professor within the Department of Geography at the University of Hong Kong. He served as a top advisor on numerous Hong Kong government committees in areas of conservation, sustainable development, environmental protection, urban planning, and was an active member in various environmental NGOs. He was the director of the Conservancy Association from 2000 to 2019.
Environment and Ecology Bureau is a policy bureau of the Government of Hong Kong. The agency was established on 1 July 2022. The current Secretary for Environment and Ecology is Tse Chin-wan.
