Greenland: Migration is an upcoming American post-apocalyptic survival thriller film directed by Ric Roman Waugh and written by Chris Sparling and Mitchell LaFortune. It is a sequel to the 2020 film Greenland , and is estimated to be released early 2025 by Lionsgate. [2]

In June 2021, it was announced a sequel titled Greenland: Migration was in development, and the following month, STX acquired the worldwide distribution rights for the film at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival for $75 million [5] and agreed to give the sequel a $65 million budget. It was put into bankruptcy protection, [6] the cast returned, and while Morena Baccarin was initially reluctant, she eventually agreed return for the sequel. [7]

Filming

Principal photography began on April 29, 2024, in the United Kingdom and Iceland. [8] [9] The project wrapped in July 2024. [10]

Scottish actor Gerard Butler has been in numerous films and television series since his on-screen debut in 1997's Mrs. Brown. After taking minor roles in releases such as the James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) and the horror film Tale of the Mummy (1998), he took the lead in 2000, portraying Dracula in Dracula 2000.
