Gregor Ian Maiden (born 22 July 1979) is a Scottish cricketer who has played first-class,One-Day International and List A cricket for Scotland. [1] He has also played List A and T20 cricket for Lancashire.
Maiden was born in Glasgow and attended Hutchesons' Grammar School,before going on to study at Loughborough University along with fellow Scotland cricketers Fraser Watts and Simon Smith. After three years,he graduated with a 2.1 honours degree in Sports Science.
A frontline batter and off-spin bowler,Gregor had a nomadic club career,having spells with several clubs in the West of Scotland and a brief stint at Lancashire (he suffered a cruciate ligament injury shortly after signing for them),until in 2004 he signed for the popular Grange club in Edinburgh,where he has played since.
In his only List A appearance for Lancashire CCC,in 2003 vs India 'A',his stand of 130 (Maiden scored 62) alongside Chris Schofield created a List A World Record for the Highest 9th Wicket Partnership. The record has since been beaten by Chris Read and Andrew Harris in 2006.
Gregor can also lay claim to being a genuine all-rounder,as in 2005 he became one of few players in the history of the game to have batted,bowled and kept wicket for his country when he took the gloves for a crucial ICC Intercontinental Cup clash. In the final season of his international career,during 2011,Maiden was Scotland's first choice wicketkeeper in CB40 and ODI matches.
After his cricketing career,Maiden worked in the banking sector in Edinburgh. [2]
Mohamed Farveez Maharoof,or Farveez Maharoof,is a professional Sri Lankan cricketer,who played Tests and ODIs. He first made his impression in the 2004 U19 World Cup in which he captained the Sri Lankan team. He enjoyed a prolific school career for Wesley College,with a highest score of 243 and best bowling figures of 8 for 20. An all-rounder,he made his Test debut in 2004.

Thomas Christopher Smith is a former English cricketer who played for Lancashire County Cricket Club. He had also been a member of the England Academy team. In 2008,he played for Leicestershire on loan because he was unable to break into Lancashire's first team. He is an all-rounder,bowling right-arm medium and batting left-handed. At the start of the 2009 season,Smith was promoted to open the batting,having previously batted in the lower order,and secured his place there. In 2011,the year Lancashire won the County Championship for the first time since 1950,Smith became the first Lancashire player to score a century and take four wickets in the same one-day match. In 2011/12 Smith played for the Matabeleland Tuskers in Zimbabwe as an overseas player in the domestic twenty20 competition.
Steven John Mullaney is an English cricketer who played in the 2006 Under-19 Cricket World Cup in Sri Lanka. For the 2008–09 Australian season he played for South Caulfield in Melbourne's Victorian Turf Cricket Association competition as that club's visiting professional. At the end of the 2009 season,Mullaney,having spent most of the year playing for the second XI,turned down a new contract with Lancashire and instead signed with Nottinghamshire.
Colin de Grandhomme is a Zimbabwean-born former New Zealand international cricketer. He was a member of the New Zealand team that won the 2019–2021 ICC World Test Championship,which was the inaugural tournament.
Stephen David Parry is an English cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and a slow left-arm bowler who played for Lancashire County Cricket Club. Parry made his senior debut for Lancashire in 2007 and in 2009 was named Lancashire's Young Player of the Year.
Karl Robert Brown is an English cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-pace bowler who played for Lancashire until 2018. Brown made his first-class debut in 2006 and his list A debut the following year. Between 2005 and 2007,Brown played 15 Youth One Day Internationals. In 2011,Brown scored his maiden centuries in first-class and list A cricket and debuted for Lancashire in twenty20s.
Gareth David Cross is an English cricketer who plays as a right-handed batsman and wicket-keeper who occasionally bowls right arm medium-fast. He played for Lancashire from 2005 until his release in 2013,and the following year signed for Derbyshire. In 2015 he returned to Clifton as professional having earlier come through their junior ranks.

Steven Joseph "Steve" O'Shaughnessy is a former English professional cricketer who played for Lancashire and Worcestershire in the 1980s,and then had a substantial career in Minor Counties cricket with Cumberland. Since retiring from playing,he has become an umpire,and was promoted in December 2010 to the first-class panel for the 2011 season.
Kyle Malcolm Jarvis is a Zimbabwean former cricketer who represented Zimbabwe and played for Lancashire. The son of another former Zimbabwean international cricketer Malcolm Jarvis,he was educated at St John's College,Harare,where he excelled at rugby and cricket. Kyle was a key bowler for Zimbabwe in the 2008 Under-19 World Cup and he also played for the Zimbabwe U-19 Rugby Team. He was coached by Zimbabwean veteran seamer Heath Streak. He was one of the fastest bowlers to have played for Zimbabwe bowling at 140 km/h very often during his early career. On 17 June 2021,Jarvis retired from all forms of cricket after battling a trio of illnesses earlier this year.
Simon Christopher Kerrigan is a retired English cricketer who last played for Northamptonshire. He bowled slow left arm orthodox spin. Kerrigan signed for Lancashire in September 2008,and made his debut for the first team in 2010,filling in for Gary Keedy,Lancashire's senior spinner. In August 2011,Kerrigan was selected for the England Lions for the first time. The following month he took the best first-class bowling figures for Lancashire since 1953 and that year Lancashire won the County Championship for the first time since 1950.
