Grinspoon EP, also known as the Green EP, [1] [2] is the debut extended play by the Australian band Grinspoon. [3] [4] The six-track EP was recorded over two weeks at Grevillia Studios in Brisbane in July 1995, with producer, Ramesh Sathiah, and was released on 1 August 1995 via local independent record label, Oracle Records. Phil Jamieson, on lead vocals and guitar, co-wrote four tracks with Pat Davern, on lead guitar. [3] [5] One track, "Let It Go", was co-written by Jamieson with Joe Hansen, their bass guitarist, and another track, "Point of View", was written solely by Jamieson. [5] The band was influenced at that time by the nu metal movement, including work by Helmet [6] and Prong. [7]

The EP includes an early version of "Sickfest", the song that gave the band a national profile by winning youth broadcaster, Triple J's inaugural Unearthed competition. [4] "Sickfest" was that station's most requested track for seven weeks, [4] and was listed on its Hottest 100 poll for that year. [8] [9] [10]

One of the six tracks, "Dr Grinspoon", references Lester Grinspoon, the Boston psychiatrist for whom the band were named. [4] "Sickfest" was re-recorded for their first studio album, Guide to Better Living (September 1997). Another track from this EP, "More Than You Are", also appeared on that album and on their third EP, Pushing Buttons (1998).

Grinspoon are an Australian rock band from Lismore, New South Wales, formed in 1995 and fronted by Phil Jamieson on vocals and guitar with Pat Davern on guitar, Joe Hansen on bass guitar and Kristian Hopes on drums. Licker Bottle Cozy, was the second EP by the Australian rock band Grinspoon. The EP was initially released by Grudge Records Australia on 16 December 1996. It was recorded by Phil McKellar in July of that year and was of a significantly better sound quality than their first EP. Two of the tracks, "Post Enebriated Anxiety" and "Champion" were included unchanged in their debut album Guide to Better Living. It was released in the United States by Universal Records in March 1997. The EP reached No. 65 on the ARIA Singles Chart in January 1997 and No. 25 on the CMJ's 'Metal Top 25' in 1998.

"Black Tattoo" is the first single by Grinspoon from their fifth studio album, Alibis & Other Lies. It was released on 30 June 2007 on the Grudge label, debuting at No. 45 on the ARIA Singles Chart. The song also polled at No. 72 on Triple J's Hottest 100 for 2007. The video shows the band being dragged along a prairie while one of the members drives the car that's dragging them.

"Sweet As Sugar" is the only single released by Grinspoon from their compilation album Best In Show. It was released in October 2005 as a digital download by Universal Music Australia. The song polled at number 42 on Triple J's Hottest 100 for 2005.

"Hold on Me" is the third single released by Grinspoon from their fourth studio album Thrills, Kills & Sunday Pills. It was released on 21 February 2005 on the Universal Records label. Buster Brown was an Australian rock and roll band, which featured vocalist Angry Anderson and drummer Phil Rudd, that was formed in Melbourne in 1973. Their sound was hard rock mixed with blues rock influences. Their first album, Something to Say was produced by Lobby Loyde and released in 1974. Rudd left to join an early version of AC/DC while Anderson continued with new line-ups and eventually disbanded the group in November 1975. Anderson joined Rose Tattoo which later included former Buster Brown bandmates, Geordie Leach on bass guitar and Dallas "Digger" Royall on drums.
