Guabito is a corregimiento and town in the Changuinola District of the Bocas del Toro Province of Panama. [2] It is a small town located directly across the Rio Sixaola from Sixaola, Costa Rica. An elevated former railroad grade and bridge connects Guabito to Sixaola. [3] This border crossing is popular with tourists going between Costa Rica and Bocas del Toro, [4] though few tourists stop in Guabito longer than necessary to clear Panamanian customs. [3]
Guabito has a land area of 168.8 square kilometres (65.2 sq mi) and had a population of 8,387 as of 2010, giving it a population density of 49.7 inhabitants per square kilometre (129/sq mi). [1] Its population as of 1990 was 11,125; its population as of 2000 was 14,366. [1]
Bocas del Toro (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈbokaz ðel ˈtoɾo]; meaning "Mouths of the Bull") is a province of Panama. Its area is 4,643.9 square kilometers, comprising the mainland and nine main islands. The province consists of the Bocas del Toro Archipelago, Bahía Almirante, Chiriquí Lagoon, and adjacent mainland. The capital is the city of Bocas del Toro on Isla Colón. Other major cities or towns include Almirante and Changuinola. The province has a population of 125,461 as of 2010.
Bocas del Toro, also known colloquially as Bocas Town, is the capital of the Panamanian province of Bocas del Toro and the district of Bocas del Toro. It is a town and a tourist resort located on the southern tip of Colón Island in the Bocas del Toro Archipelago in the Caribbean Sea. Bocas Town had 12,996 residents in 2008.
Cerro Punta is a city and corregimiento in Tierras Altas District, Chiriquí Province, Panama. Cerro Punta is located in Panama's western highlands at an altitude of 6,500 feet, just south of the Continental Divide. Many of the inhabitants of the village and the surrounding areas are indigenous Native Americans. The climate, like the rest of Panama, is tropical with a short dry season and rainy season that extends about 9 – 10 months of the year. Night time temperatures are often cool due to Cerro Punta's relatively high elevation. During the 1970s much of the land was used for cultivating strawberries; households also maintained small mixed-vegetable gardens. The village can be reached by traveling north from the Pan-American highway.

Changuinola is a city in the Bocas del Toro Province of Panama and seat city of the Changuinola District. The city attracts tourists as a popular gateway to Bocas Town and nearby cities Almirante and Chiriqui Grande.

Chiriquí Grande is a corregimiento in Chiriquí Grande District, Bocas del Toro Province, Panama. It is the seat of Chiriquí Grande District. It has a land area of 58.8 square kilometres (22.7 sq mi) and had a population of 3,014 as of 2010, giving it a population density of 51.2 inhabitants per square kilometre (133/sq mi). Its population as of 1990 was 7,637; its population as of 2000 was 2,069. The town is located on the southern shore of Chiriquí Lagoon and its port serves as the northern terminus of the Trans-Panama pipeline.
Valle del Risco Corregimiento, is a group of small rural communities in the Bocas del Toro Province of Panama. The biggest community is Valle del Risco, where there is a school and medical services.

Its population as of 1990 was 692; its population as of 2000 was 966.

Punta Robalo is a town and corregimiento in Chiriquí Grande District, Bocas del Toro Province, Panama. The corregimiento has a land area of 51 square kilometres (20 sq mi) and had a population of 1,164 as of 2010, giving it a population density of 22.8 inhabitants per square kilometre (59/sq mi). Its population as of 1990 was 3,118; its population as of 2000 was 1,673. The town is located on the western coast of Chiriquí Lagoon.

The Sixaola River is a river in southern Limón Province, Costa Rica. It flows from the Cordillera Talamanca to the Caribbean Sea northeast of Sixaola at 9°34′20″N82°33′54″W. The 1991 Costa Rica earthquake, also known as the Limon earthquake or Bocas del Toro earthquake, occurred at 3:57 pm local time on April 22. The epicenter of the 7.7 Mw earthquake was in Pandora, Valle La Estrella, in the Caribbean region of Limon, Costa Rica, 225 kilometres (140 mi) southeast of San José. The earthquake was the strongest recorded in Costa Rica's history, and was felt throughout the country as well as in western Panama.
