Guerra de Empresas (April 2011) (Spanish for "War of the Promotions") was an annual professional wrestling major event and tournament produced by Mexican professional wrestling promotion International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG), which took place on April 24, 2011 in Arena Naucalpan, Naucalpan, State of Mexico, Mexico. IWRG's Guerra de Empresas series of events all center on inter-promotional competition with tag teams representing IWRG as well as a number of other wrestling promotions represented by one or more tag teams. The April tournament was the third tournament held by IWRG and the second held in 2011 by IWRG.

Production

Background

The Guerra de Empresas ("War of the Promotions") concept is a recurring tournament between representatives of various Mexican wrestling promotions hosted by different promotions over time, International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG; Sometimes referred to as Grupo Internacional Revolución in Spanish) hosted the first one in 2010 and has hosted one or more Guerra de Empresas each year since then, while also sending representatives to other promotions for their Guerra de Empresas shows. The Guerra de Empresas tournament was normally a single-elimination tag team tournament with eight teams fighting for the trophy. The IWRG Guerra de Empresas shows, as well as the majority of the IWRG shows in general, are held in "Arena Naucalpan", owned by the promoters of IWRG and their main arena. The January 2011 Guerra de Empresas show was the second IWRG promoted a show under that name.

Storylines

The event featured nine professional wrestling matches with different wrestlers involved in pre-existing scripted feuds, plots and storylines. Wrestlers were portrayed as either heels (referred to as rudos in Mexico, those that portray the "bad guys") or faces (técnicos in Mexico, the "good guy" characters) as they followed a series of tension-building events, which culminated in a wrestling match or series of matches. The Main Event was a 12-Man Steel Cage Match. The last two wrestlers who remained in the ring fought one on one in a Lucha de Apuestas Match ("Bet match"), wagering their mask on the outcome of the match. The event included wrestlers from International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG) as well as a number of Mexican freelance wrestlers. IWRG's Guerra de Empresas series of events all center on inter-promotional competition with tag teams representing IWRG as well as a number of other wrestling promotions represented by one or more tag teams.

Event

The event was originally slated to have Charly Manson team up with Cibernético in the sixth match of the night against Electroshock and La Parka but did not show up for the match. This forced IWRG to replace him with Halloween, turning the regular tag team match into a Parejas Increibles since Halloween was part of Los Perros del Mal , a rival of Cibernético. [1] [2] [3] [4] Halloween was originally slated to represent the Perros del Mal wrestling promotion in the Guerra de Empresas tournament, but was replaced by El Hijo de Pirata Morgan, an IWRG regular who did not work for Los Perros. Aftermath

It was later revealed that Charly Manson had missed the event as he and a friend were arrested after getting into a fight with two police officers on the day of the show. The fight resulted in one of the officers suffering a fractured skull, the other a broken nose and whiplash while Manson's friend was shot in the foot by a third officer. Manson (real name Jesús Pozos) was originally denied bail and was expected to be waiting for his trial in jail, facing a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison for charges of aggravated assault and attacking authority figures. [6] [7] [8] [9] On May 4, AAA announced that Pozos had been released on bail. [10] Pozos' bail was revoked on June 30, after which he was arrested at a AAA taping and taken to a prison in Mexico City. [11] On February 23, 2012, it was reported that Pozos had been sentenced to 15 years in prison for his role in the altercation with the two police officers. [12]

Electroshock (wrestler)

Edgar Luna Pozos is a Mexican Luchador or professional wrestler best known under the ring name Electroshock, which he has used while working for the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) since 1997. Pozos is married to luchadora Lady Apache and is the brother of Luchador Charly Manson. As Electroshock Pozos has been a member of the groups Los Vipers, La Legión Extranjera and Los Wagnermaniacos. He is the winner of the 2009 Rey de Reyes tournament and a one-time AAA Mega Champion.

Máscara Año 2000 Jr.

Ángel Omar Reyes Franco is a Mexican luchador or professional wrestler, better known as Máscara Año 2000 Jr. He is working for Lucha Libre AAA World Wide (AAA), and International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG). Máscara Año 2000 Jr. originally worked under a mask and his real name was not a matter of public record, until he lost his mask in a match in August 2012. His father Jesús Reyes González wrestled under the ring name Máscara Año 2000. He is a former holder of the IWRG Intercontinental Heavyweight Championship and a co-holder of the IWRG Intercontinental Tag Team Championship along with El Hijo de Cien Caras. In the United States he is best known through his appearance on the travel show Dhani Tackles the Globe, where he wrestled host Dhani Jones in an episode of the show's second season.

Último Gladiador

Gerardo Campos Poza, better known under his ring name Último Gladiador is a Mexican Luchadorenmascarado, or masked professional wrestler. Campos currently works for the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide under the ring name Demon Rocker as a part of the group Los Inferno Rockers. Campos has previously wrestled under the name El Potro as well as being the first wrestler to play the masked Mega character for International Wrestling Revolution Group.

<i>Los Psycho Circus</i> Professional wrestling stable

Los Psycho Circus is a Lucha libre, or professional wrestling, trio who worked for the Mexico City based Lucha Libre AAA World Wide (AAA) as a tecnico team. The trio consists of three enmascarado, or masked, wrestlers known under the ring names Psycho Clown, Monster Clown and Murder Clown. They are former two-time AAA World Trios Champions and were also the last holders of the Mexican National Atómicos Championship with Chessman. Los Psycho Circus is most known for an exaggerated undefeated streak since their debut in 2007, they are announced as having won over 600 matches. The streak came to an end in December 2010.

Murder Clown is the ring name of a Mexican Luchadorenmascarado, or masked professional wrestler currently signed to Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA). Murder Clown's ring character is that of a nightmarish clown and he is part of Los Psycho Circus along with Monster Clown and Psycho Clown. Juan Francisco Domínguez is a Mexican luchador or professional wrestler, currently performing under the ring name X-Fly. He is also known as the original Mosco de la Merced, a name which has since been given another luchador. Guerra de Empresas (2012) was an annual professional wrestling major event produced by Mexican professional wrestling promotion International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG), which took place on July 8, 2012 in Arena Naucalpan, Naucalpan, State of Mexico, Mexico. The event focused on an eight-tag team tournament between representatives of IWRG, AAA, Desastre Total Ultraviolento (DTU), La Familia de Tijuana (FdT) and Los Perros del Mal (PdM) to underline the "War of the Promotions" concept. While wrestlers all represented their "home" promotion they had competed on IWRG events prior to this event, either through IWRG's working relationship with AAA or due to be in independent contractors and not signed exclusively with one specific wrestling promotion.

Hijo de Máscara Año 2000 is a Mexican luchador enmascarado, or masked professional wrestler currently working for the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) portraying a rudo wrestling character. Hijo de Máscara Año 2000's real name is not a matter of public record, as is often the case with masked wrestlers in Mexico where their private lives are kept a secret from the wrestling fans.

Cien Caras Jr. is a Mexican luchador enmascarado, or masked professional wrestler currently working for the Mexican professional wrestling promotion International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG) portraying a rudo wrestling character. Cien Caras Jr.'s real name is not a matter of public record, as is often the case with masked wrestlers in Mexico where their private lives are kept a secret from the wrestling fans. He is not a blood relative of wrestler Cien Caras, but instead is using the ring name with permission from Cien Caras.

Los Capos Junior is a Mexican professional wrestling group, called a stable, which is working on the Mexican Independent circuit, including regular appearances for International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG). The group works as a rudo faction and often teams together for tag team or Trios matches. The storyline behind team is that they are all sons of one of the original Los Capos, Cien Caras and Máscara Año 2000, although only one of the four members have been confirmed as being a blood relative while two others were definitely not. The stable includes Cien Caras Jr., Hijo de Máscara Año 2000 and Máscara Año 2000 Jr.. El Hijo de Cien Caras was a part of the group until his death in 2010. Los Capos have at times also been billed as Los Hermanos Dinamita leading this team being called Los Hermanos Dinamita Junior or Los Junior Dinamitas.

Guerra de Empresas (January 2011) 2011 International Wrestling Revolution Group event

Guerra de Empresas was an annual professional wrestling major event produced by Mexican professional wrestling promotion International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG), which took place on January 2, 2011 in Arena Naucalpan, Naucalpan, State of Mexico, Mexico. IWRG's Guerra de Empresas series of events all center around inter-promotional competition with tag teams representing IWRG as well as a number of other wrestling promotions represented by one or more tag teams. While wrestlers all represented their "home" promotion most had competed on IWRG events prior to this event, either through IWRG's working relationship with AAA or due to be in independent contractors and not signed exclusively with one specific wrestling promotion. The show was unofficially the 15th IWRG Anniversary Show, but not officially promoted as an anniversary show.

Miguel Ángel Lugo, better known under the ring name Eterno is a Mexican luchador, or professional wrestler currently working for the Mexican professional wrestling promotions Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA), International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG), Desastre Total Ultraviolento (DTU) and on the Mexican independent circuit portraying a rudo wrestling character.

IWRG Guerra de Empresas International Wrestling Revolution Group event series

The title Guerra de Empresas is the name of a series of major lucha libre shows produced and scripted by the Mexico-based International Wrestling Revolution Group professional wrestling promotion. The Guerra de Empresas title has also been used by other Mexican wrestling promotions such as Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) and various Mexican independent promotions. The Guerra de Empresas always features wrestlers from two or more promotions wrestling against each other in a tournament.

The International Wrestling Revolution Group Anniversary Shows is an annual major lucha libre event produced and scripted by the Mexican International Wrestling Revolution Group. The show is always held on or just after January 1 each year, marking the creation of IWRG on January 1, 1996. The anniversary shows are often, but not always main evented by a Lucha de Apuestas, or "bet match", where a wrestler will put his wrestling mask or hair on the line.

La Fortaleza was a major professional wrestling produced and scripted held by the Mexican Lucha libre promotion International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG) on March 4, 2015. La Fortaleza refers to the main event ten-man steel cage match where the last man remaining in the cage would be forced to remove their wrestling mask or have their hair shaved off per Lucha de Apuestas, or "bet match", rules. La Fortaleza featured a team representing IWRG and a team representing the rival AAA promotion, furthering a scripted rivalry between the two companies.

Lady Shani

Lady Shani is the ring name of a Mexican luchadora enmascarada, or masked professional wrestler, currently under contract with Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide. She made her debut in 2009 and until 2015 worked under the more generic name Sexy Lady before adopting her current name that same year. Initially she portrayed a ruda but in 2017 she changed sides and became a tecnica. She is the cousin of Ludark Shaitan, with whom she both teamed with and fought against early in her career. Lady Shani's real name is not a matter of public record, which is traditional for masked wrestlers in Mexico who have not been unmasked.
